To the right is a small billet of Damascus Steel I made for two rings, Haveing to many irons in the fire I lost count and folded it one to many times for a good ring pattern, so I turned it on its end and forged it into two halfs giveing each half approximatly even layers, I had to work the steel, upset it from all sides, I am excited to see what it will look like when etched.
Here with a dull Hardy and a strait peen hammer I forged it into the two sizes I need for rings
Then I took a hotcut and split it in two pieces for the  rings sizes I need then rounded them on the anvil.
Then I put it on my lathe, turned it into a piece of solid damascus Steel, polished it, and right now I have it in an acid bath waiting for it to etch
This is what they look like freshly out of the etching solution,
I have them at the platers now, he will plate the light colored lines with gold.
Here I drilled a hole, put them on an arbor in the lathe and turned the outside round

With the outside round I was able to hold it in the lathe to cut the inside diameter to size
And here they are, gold plated and waterproof
