Week One
October 24, 2004-Monday
Although the first day back in the hospital  started out rough due to excruiting pain in Rocio's bones the nurses and doctors finally got her pain under control. She's currently on a PCA pump which she can administer herself doses of morphine and does not have to wait for the nurses.
About 5:00pm her pain was finally under control. Rocio had many wonderful visitors and homecooked meals (A TRUE BLESSING if you've ever had hospital food!) We all prayed for Rocio to have a 'pain free' night and for NO side effects from the chemo.

October 25, 2004-Tuesday
Well, our prayers were answered, NO SIDE EFFECTS!! And doing exceptionally well for someone who's gone through so much! Visitors continued to pour out their love and support and today actually got to see our little princess all dressed up with makeup on! (a great sign, don't ya think?!) Posters went up and her room is beginning to feel a little more inviting than your usual hospital room! Continued prayer for another night of no side effects and pain management is under way!

October 26, 2004-Wednesday
Yet another miracle, no side effects again!!!!!! PRAISE GOD! Rocio is still in great spirits and feels a peace about everything that is going on with her treatment. Her outlook is admirably positive and she is so full of FAITH she makes me cry everytime I see that smiling little face. I'm not the one going through chemo and here she is filling me with HOPE and FAITH!!! Guess that's why I love her sooo much! Today was a very special day for Rocio, Jubilee had their 'women's bible study' at the hospital today so that Rocio could be a part of it! Thank God for our church! What a blessing they are. The love and outpouring of support and prayers makes all the difference in the world.

October 27, 2004 -Thursday
Well, Day four and can you even stand it...still no side effects...GOD IS WONDERFUL and yes prayer works!!!! Rocio is doing so well you can't believe it! Paul just told me that she's actually been eating so well that she's gained 2 lbs (which she so desperately needs to do) I can't tell you how happy I am to hear such incredible news. Please continue to keep her in your prayers, as you can see...THEY WORK! Also, Rocio is still in dire need of a Bone Marrow transplant, but still does not have a perfect match. If you or anyone you know is has Latino bloodline PLEASE register and/or encourage anyone you know that is to register at their local Bone Marrow National registry. Latino is blood is by far the lowest percentage of poplulation who is registered right now so their blood is very rare. See link below for more information. FYI: there is often a small fee to register however, Don Juan Avila Elementary school is having a FREE bone marrow donor drive coming  up in the not too distant future. See this site for updates.

As of today,

I was just informed that

SATURDAY, October 30,2004
