Well, last night marked the point that we all knew would eventually come...Rocio had a terrible reaction to her 2nd round of Chemotherapy. She was vomiting and had the dry heaves for hours. Her mother Irma did her best to comfort her by rubbing her back but, Rocio still felt unbearable pain. PLEASE, PLEASE send out your prayer for her comfort and tolerance of this next round of chemo tonight. God Bless, Kimberly

December 29, 2001 Okay gang, Here's the latest news: Right now Rocio has just finished her 5th round of Chemotherapy. Her White cell count is down to zero. (Which was the intention of the chemo--to kill ALL the white cells---including the CANCEROUS ones.) The other FANTASTIC NEWS is that ALL 3 of her Spinal Taps which test for cancer in the CNS and the Brain came back. NEGATIVE!!!!!!!!! Yeahhhhh!!!! Doctors are all very encouraged by Rocio's strength and the way she is handling this very serious state that she is currently in. (Although very serious, Rocio is still her sarcastic, jovial self--crackin' jokes! Saying things like "hey..still got all my hair!") We knew this was going to be the hardest part guys so...keep those prayer coming, now more than ever because this is IT!!! If she can pull through this part---she's going to end up in REMISSION!!! (Remission is when: White blood cells are normal; no signs of leukemia)Tuesday, New Year's is a big day for Rocio--she has her next bone marrow biopsy to check to see if she is in remission! Can you believe she actually asked the doctor if she could have a little champagne on Tuesday to celebrate the New Year!!! The doctor nearly hit the floor!! So...until then keep up those prayers, letters and emails coming...they mean the world to her!
Cards and letters of encouragement can now be sent directly to Rocio's hospital room. Please email me and I'll send you the address!
December 30,2001 Well, change of plans, the docs may be doing the bone marrow a little earlier because of the holiday. (She thinks it probably won't be 'til Weds though) She does know however, that she'll still be in the hospital at least til around Jan11,2002 or maybe even the following week. Right now she's still on antibiotics to protect her from invaders and she's taking anti nausea meds and steriods that help fight the leukemia as well as keeping her appetitie up! (Rocio asked the nurse this morning if she could do situps!!! ) What a silly goose!
