Location: In the forest, 1500 meters east of base camp

Time: 0520 19 July 2000
<"SIR! contact 12 o'clock 200 meters!" whispers Brantley. "Your call sir" he says as he drops behind a tree and takes aim at the closest man.
(They do not seem to have noticed you)

(The individuals are located east of the base camp, near the road, about 1500 meters from the camp. They are located in wooded terrain)>

CPT Wolfe keys the mike and calls back "we got 3 movers about 1500 meters east of base. Seem to be patrolling.. Request reinforcements asap"

Major Stone quickly passes the word that there's contact...."SSG Cutter, since you want to know WTF is going on...grab your gear and move out. I'm going with you."

CPT Wolfe whispers "let's see how many more there are...If there are more then 5, we'll wait for backup. Let's find a little better location to watch from." "Roger that sir" replies Brantley.

As the soldiers advance, you sight several more soldiers, by the time they reach 150 meters, you see 7 total, including one with a radio. You spot several assualt rifles and submachine guns, and one heavy machine gun. You quickly decide to let them pass, 3 on 2 wasn't bad...but 7 on 2 isn't quite your style. CPT Wolfe quickly radioes the Major and informs him of the situation.

"Try and get ahead of them, and link up with us" responds the Major.

CPT Wolfe and SGM Brantley sneak by them (about 150 meters south of them).CPT Wolfe and SGM Brantley link up with the Major and Cutter. The battle plan (near ambush...Brantley has the radioman, Cutter, is to light up the machinegunner, the Major takes the pointman, and CPT Wolfe takes the trailman)is quickly drawn and everyone gets into position just before the enemy arrives.

Everyone takes aim, and Brantley gets the go from the Major, Brantley puts a round through the radioman's head as the radioman turns his head. The radioman collapses to the ground in a heap.

Cutter then opens up on the machinegunner, perforating his chest with several rounds.

The major squeezes off at the pointman...the pointman screams, clutches his legs, then drops to the ground, and goes quiet.

CPT Wolfe tags the trailman, who drops his assault rifle, clutches his face and falls over.

The remaining soldiers hit the dirt, except for one who pulls a grenade and fumbles with it, dropping his weapon in the process. As Cutter brings the '60 to bear on him he pulls the pin and tosses it with all his might...

As Cutter cuts him down, everyone watches in horrid facination as the grenade lands mere feet from the Major's head. Everyone waits for it to go off, but it doesn't. The remaining soldiers use this opportunity to make their getaway, which brings everyone back into reality. Brantley chambers another round and quickly ends the escape of one of the remaining two.

The explosion stuns everyone. As CPT Wolfe tags the last soldier, SGM Brantley rushes to the Major...or what is left of him. He's still breathing, but his breathing is shallow and rapid.

The sound of an engine near the road brings everyone back. "sh*t!" barks Cutter, "we got company!"

CPT Wolfe takes charge, "Cutter, help me drag the major back to the base camp. Brantley, take the second radio and see what you can "acquire" from visitors...get as much as you can but don't get into any trouble." "Roger sir" Cutter and Brantley reply in unision.

Cutter and CPT Wolfe grab ahold of the major and start heading back towards base camp.

CPT Wolfe radioes ahead informing CPT Cappanetti of the situation. After a few hundred meters CPT Wolfe and SSG Cutter find an protected location to check on the major. He's still alive, but barely, Cutter doubts he'll make it through the trip back to camp. Cutter patches him up the best he can and then they move again.

SGM Brantley rushes onto the objective, grabbing only the weapons that are easily accessible. He makes a quick note of the radio frequency, grabbing the radio would be too obvious. As Brantley heads east, he comes across a blood trail. Risking getting caught, he follows it, coming across one of the men from the patrol they ambushed. He's seriously wounded, but should live several more hours. Brantley secures the prisoner, performs minor first aid (stops the bleeding), then heads east for a while in case he's followed.

By the time CPT Wolfe and SSG Cutter return with the Major, it's too late.

SGM Brantley (and his prisoner) return about 2 hours later. Brantley tosses 2 RAKMs, and a AKM onto bed of the duece and a half. "I really wish I could have seen who was coming down the road, but this prize was too good to pass up. How's the major?"

SSG Martinez comes over and takes control of the prisoner, while CPT Cappanetti informs SGM Brantley of the Major's demise.
