(MAP of the situation)
<CPT Wolfe and SGM Martinez link up with Brantley and Cutter quickly discussing the plans of how to deal with the BRDM (which is less than 3 minutes out).>

CPT Cappanetti keys the mike "All Snakes: if we can take the driver and a sufficient number of the crew, we'll take the BRDM as necessary.

Brantley: you've got tactical command, since I'm situation-blind at the
moment.

Keep me informed, boyz. Let's rock 'n roll."

"Will do Rattler 1" squawks the radio.

CPT Wolfe turns to SGM Brantley and says "I may outrank you, but I'm just a cannoncocker. You jarheads are trained to do this upclose and personal sh*t, I just sit back and lob rounds. It's your call."

SGM Martinez speaks up "I say we light it up. We don't have enough people to man another vehicle. Besides, if we pop it, less chance of us getting shot up. Cutter is still hurting as it is."

SSG Cutter barks "I'm fine!" then winces in pain, paying for that quick movement of his chest (see turn #2).

Location: 500 meters Northwest of the captured Duece

SGM Stewart watches as the figure stops less than a 100 meters from him. He can't really tell if it friend or foe, but it looks like the individual is carrying an AK.

Location: The village of Ladek Stary (15 km West of the Captured Duece)

Time: 0527 20 July 2000

The village was not yet awakened, but Captain Jarrod Lee was wide awake. He hadn't slept much in the past week. The stress of being shot out of the sky for the 5th time since the war started was really starting to annoy him. The Russians didn't help his stress level much with their pursuit either. CPT Lee tries to remember how he ended up in this little village...

Ah yes... after being shot down and crashing hard into the woods, he barely had time to pull his gunner's body free of the burning wreck before it exploded. CPT Lee grabbed one of the dogtags of LT Foster's body. LT Foster may have been Army, but he was a damn good gunner...for an army puke. CPT Lee wished he could have buried the body, but the sound of approaching soviets quashed that idea. The past several days consisted of dodging patrols and looking for friendlies...or at least someone friendlier than the soviets. He wandered through the woods for 2 days before he found some friendly locals...make that they found him. The locals were from the village of Ladek Stary, out hunting for food. The locals caught CPT Lee sleeping (even a Marine has to sleep sometime). The villagers took him back to the village, where he was given food, water, and most importantly, shelter. After sleeping for what seemed forever, CPT Lee finally feels rested. CPT Lee realizes he knows almost nothing about the village that he is in.

Location: Near the Road -700 meters East of the Captured Duece

Sgt. Holland grabs Edward Rapacski and pulls him down. There is little chance you could be spotted, considering the circumstances. Self preservation tends to make one a little overly cautious. As you try to determine what the vehicle was that just passed you was, you hear another vehicle approaching, more slowly. You instantly recognize the vehicle as a humvee. The gunner slowly is scanning the woodline, as though expecting an ambush.

CPT Cappanetti checks the Tank Breaker to ensure it's armed...for the third time.

He then speaks to SSG Martinez "Martinez: keep it loose and far enough back that we won't get hosed if I have to nuke 'em. I wanna be able to turn the corner and skin 'em to save our guys if we have to..."

"Roger that sir" replies SSG Martinez.
