My fondest memories are from high school. When and where else can you have such unbridled fun without all the cares and worries of adulthood?

Where's my coffee?
I had a "clic" I hung around with (who doesn't) pretty much all the time. Wiseguy, H, Kenton, Danny, Carpickle, Ronnie, Donnie, and Scott. We used to meet up on the cruise strip, at the Wal-Mart store. We'd park the cars in the lot, along the strip, sit on the trunks, and yell at the girls cruising by.
I remember one time, this car pulled in, and started causing trouble. Ronnie went back to see what it was all about. I went when I heard Ronnie getting in the dudes face. At that time, one of the dudes got in my face. Well, me being me, I'm standing my ground (internally shaking in my boots!), when all of a sudden I heard in my right ear, "Stay cool, dude, I'm here." That was Kenton. Now, understand, Kenton stood 2" shorter than me, and about 100 pounds of pure muscle heavier than me. I can't tell you the sheer relief that washed over me at that point!!
We used to do all kinds of crazy s**t in high school. Stuff that I wonder if my sons will try when they reach that age... Good thing is that I proved to my sons early on that I know what they are thinking, so they are gonna have to try pretty hard to pull the wool over the old mans' eyes....
Well, my sons are now 9 and 6. The youngest just started Kindergarten, and he likes it just fine. I was gonna say he loves it, but then I started thinking about playing Mario Kart against him last night. He stands in front of the TV, turning his whole body as the kart turns on the TV (it's so cute to watch him!). Of course, I let him win once, and that boy just partied!
I played bass in a band in high school. We called ourselves "Intercept". I was reminiscing about that over the weekend. We really had a good time doing it. There were just the 3 of us, John Kramps (Lead Guitar, Lead Vocals), Troy Meiers (Drums, Backing Vocals) later, Troy Smith (Drums, Backing Vocals), and myself (Bass, Backing Vocals).
Well, as high school friends will, we lost touch after high school. I went into the USMC, John went into the USAF, and I don't know what the Troy's did. Anyway, I ran into Troy Smith a couple of years ago, during a bowling league. We caught up with each other, had a good time. Then, John found me on the web, and emailed me. I had completely forgotten that John, myself, and Troy Meiers got together around 1987, and recorded 4 songs on a demo. Well, I got a copy of a VHS we had recorded with Troy Smith at a party we played in late 1985. (It's AWFUL!) But, it was fun to see us that young, having an absolute BLAST! H controlled the lighting at that party. We played 12 songs, over half of them originals that John wrote (half of those I had forgotten all about!)
