H
This dude gets his own page. Of all the guys I hung with in high school, I had more fun with H than anyone else.

H embodies the word "cool". I remember when I was a kid, Bill Cosby had a comedy routine about a kid that had a car that was sooooo coooooool....
Anyway, that's H.

The H-Man, I honestly believe, was better known by "H" than by his actual name, especially out on the cruise strip. It was the wildest thing. Here I am, I've known him almost all my life, and I got to the point where
I stopped calling him by his first name, and just called him H. I was trying to remember who first named him that. I know for a fact that I personally gave quite a few guys their nicknames (they weren't flattering, tho!), but I don't know who nicknamed H. We lost touch after I got out of the Corp in '89. H called me a couple of years ago, and the first word's outta my mouth were; "H? Well, I'll be damned!!! How the hell are ya?!!?". The little lady wasn't too happy about that, so I had to take the call outside!!

Anyway, H was sooooo cooool, he actually put a mattress on top of his pool table and slept up there. It was the wildest thing!! H had a converted garage, that he used for his bedroom. He would leave the sliding glass door unlocked, so the guys and I would meet at his place every morning before school, and just sit around and bs until he woke up.

One morning, I took my bass guitar, amp, and reverb over the H's house. I was playing in jazz band and school, and we had a practice scheduled for that afternoon. Well, I hooked it all up, (now realize this was at about 6:30am), struck a power chord, and watched H go from a horizontal resting position to a vertical position 3ft above the pool table in a split second. We laughed our a**es off!! I thought he was gonna kill me!!

H and I had many mutual friends, I'd say as many girls as guys, and you could always count on H having a girl with him on the 'strip. I remember when he was dating Regina. H drove by and pulled into the Walmart 1 Friday night. I went over to his car, saw he had a cute blonde beside him, and a cute redhead in the back seat. Now, me being partial to redheads, I climbed in his window, into the backseat, and said; "Take off, Jeeves!" H pulled out, and we went cruising. The look on the redheads face (who didn't know me from Adam) was priceless!!!

If I remember right, and H correct me if I'm wrong, I believe we dated another pair of friends. H introduced me to a girl named Melanie, who was a friend of his girlfriend at the time. I had a '67 Mustang then, so I would've been 16, H was 17, his girlfriend was 16, and mine was 15. I believe it was with these 2 girls that we got caught parking out at an abandoned house. That was alot of fun!!

As soon as I can find it, I'll put up a picture we had taken at Junior Prom. H, myself, Scott, and Bob (Collectively known as "Silent Rage") had a picture taken together in our tuxes (remember that H?). I remember we were scrambling to gather enough money together to get it done.

I know H is checking out the site, and I'm glad he likes the tribute. I think about it now, here we are, 20 odd years after the cruise strip. I'm in one part of the country, H is in another. And through the "miracle" of the web, we can easily keep in touch. Pretty damn cool!! Well, buddy, this Bud's for u!
