| We went to Tiradentes by way of this 1920s wood-burning locomotive called the Maria Fumaca. |
| This colonial town is named after a revolutionary hero, Joaquin Jose da Silva Xavier. His nickname was Tiradentes, the "tooth puller". Here is Barry beside a statue of him. |
| In all of these cities we visited are magnificent churches and beautiful buildings. Linnea loved this street going up to the main church with the pretty colors and cobblestones. |
| We went to the ----- museum where we saw many intersting things. Here is a sedan chair in which slaves transported the local elites. |
