Barbara's Cat Rescue Service
Looking for a kitten or cat to give a new home
to? Then Barbara's Select Cat and Kitten Sanctuary could be your
answer.
Barbara Dollery runs a Cat Rescue Service in Regent's Park,
Southampton, Hampshire, England. It is a small, self-supporting,
independent sanctuary, relying upon donations and fund-raising to
continue its cat/kitten rescue work.
All cats and kittens are vetted and neutered before being
handed over to prospective owners - but only under certain,
stringent conditions. These are as follows:-
- You have a suitable home to offer.
- You accept the cat/kitten on a trial basis in the hope
that it will settle happily as part of the family.
- If the cat/kitten becomes ill or is injured, you will
seek veterinary aid for it as soon as possible.
- The cat/kitten will be kept safe and secure indoors for a
settling in period of at least 21 days. Also have a
litter tray ready in a private corner before he/she is
let out of the carrier; keep his bed and feeding bowls
away from draught; close all bedroom doors because a
timid cat will initially want to hide in a safe place
"Don't let meeowt yet!
REMEMBER:-
The cat does not know you are its new
family. It does not know your home or the outside area
around your home. If it gets out before it has had time
to ajust, it will be very confused and unhappy - even
though it appears to want to go out - KEEP IT SAFELY
INDOORS FOR THREE WEEKS, and let it outside during a
quiet period, leaving the door ajar for its easy return.
And finally,
You will not give the cat/kitten to anyone else, and will
undertake to return it to Barbara's Cat Rescue if you are
unable to keep it for any reason whatsoever.
