For the past ten years, Ft. Lauderdale has observed Fleet Week with numerous ships open for tours.  The McDonald Air and Sea show with private aerial acts was augmented by an armed forces beach invasion and appearances by planes such as the F16C Fighting Falcons , F14 Tom Cats, and F/A 18 Hornets.  The top attraction was the US Air Force Thunderbirds.  At the time of this writing, McDonald and Ft. Lauderdale have not agreed to a contract to continue the air show so the future of the show next year is uncertain.

Las Olas Municipal Marina where we stayed in 1999 and 2004 for brief periods.

Looking north up the ICW from the Las Olas Bridge, the marina on the right.

The marina maintains a limited number of mooring balls at a park along the Las Olas Bridge, above and  below.

The double bascule bridge at Sunrise.  We were on bikes and stopped for the bridge to lift for a sailboat on the ICW.
