Blend is a web magazine which focuses on multicultural relationships and families. As we say on our home page, Blend is all about highlighting and celebrating the joys and challenges of living, loving and blending our various cultural backgrounds.
Though our focus is primarily on the differences between people, Blend
intends to celebrate our similarities as well - though our staff comes
from a widely varied background of different countries and continents, we share more in common than any of us expected.
Founder, Managing Editor: Monika Doyle
Monika was born in India, and landed in Virginia by way of North Carolina, Texas, Missouri, and France. Facing the challenges of growing up as the daughter of 2 Indian immigrants and marrying a recovering New England Catholic, Monika was eagerly looking to find anyone who would relate to the challenges of her every day life. When she couldn't find a suitable forum to share stories, she started her own. Blend magazine is her vision. Monika currently lives in Arlington, VA with her husband, Rob.
Director of Design: Reuben Dalke
Reuben Dalke holds a degree in Graphic Design from the University of
Missouri in Columbia, MO. Mr. Dalke has been responsible for design work for the prestigious Post-Gazette newspaper company, and the American Prospect magazine. He currently lives in The Carriage House in Silver Spring, MD.
