2005 Progress # 6
9-17-05 The Windshield is Installed

Things will be less breezy now that the cleaned windshield has been installed. Additionally the sorrounding moldings have been installed as well.
SHORT TERM TO DO ITEMS and STATUS AS OF 9/19/05
1) Troubleshoot ignition switch failure. Engine won't turn over with the key. The problem being that the park/neutral sending unit on the transmissions is not transmitting ground to the starter solenoid. In addition we have a defective solenoid. Both were replaced to no avail. Next recourse was to permanently ground the lead solenoid starter.The engine now starts.

2) Troubleshoot in dash right hand turn signal light. - DONE 9-15-05
3) Buff out and touch up exterior paint blemishes as needed. In progress, compounds and materials procured.- DONE 9-15-05
4) Correctly connect parking brake indicator light to proper switch. Need to locate a switch and install it. - DONE 9-16-05
5) Neatly organize wiring left over from removed AC system inside dash. DONE 9-17-05
6) Connect the map light.- DONE 9-18-05
7) Find and install trunk light.- DONE 9-18-05
8) Paint and install bumper jack.- DONE 9-19-05
9) Properly align hood. - DONE 9-19-05
10) Reattach grill and front bumper. - DONE 9-19-05
11) Install front bucket seats upon completion of under dash wiring. DONE 9-19-05
12) Install door seal scuff plates. New screws have been purchased. DONE 9-19-05
13) Paint steering column - DONE
14) Install the restored stock steering wheel.(CLICK LINK TO SEE WHEEL) - DONE 9-20-05
15) Mount and connect fender mounted turn signal indicators. (CLICK TO SEE NEW INDICATORS) - DONE! 9-20-05

9/14/05 - Interior is Looking Good!  The Carpet, Seats & Door Panels Go In.

9/20/05 - Interior Complete

As we are preparing to finish at the project site a number of tasks were completed on this day. These include cleaning the vinyl top, installing the console top, side board protectors, steering wheel and headrests. The work to the interior is pretty much finished except for installing the AC unit at a later date.

New headliner
New Door Panels
Repaired Arm Rests
Removal of 120 MPH Speedo
Install of 150 MPH Speedo
Install of non-column shift steering column
Complete Dash Restoration
Install of Dodge Coronet R/T Emblems
Purchase of 68 Bucket seats (new upholstery and vinyl covers)
Restoration of Headrests
Restoration of purchased Center console.
Repainted door tops
Complete Electrical overhaul and systems check.
New door handles
Purchase and install of stock radio
New door knobs





LONG TERM TO DO LIST:

1) Install custom 2.5 inch exhaust system.
2) Mount rear tires on rear rims. Mount all Magnum 500 wheels with tires on car.
3) Highly detail interior and exterior.
4) Install chrome air cleaner and 440 Magnum call out pie pan.
5) Install Classic Auto Air or Vintage Air aftermarket AC system.
6) Properly decal car with reproduction stickers.
7) Cruise.
