12/3/05 - Lufkin Show n Shine & More Door Fixes
RHM III and RHM Jr took the car to a �Shine and Show� at Ray�s Drive-In Restaurant in Lufkin, TX this evening. During the day we worked to finish the driver�s side door. This included sanding and buffing the clear coat on the upper door panel, installing a plastic moisture barrier between the door frame and the door panel and cleaning and polishing the chrome trim strip.
When reinstalling the door panel we determined it did not fit correctly. This explained the visible gap that existed between the door panel and the door when the car was picked up. Upon examination it was determined that the mounting holes for the clips used to secure the panel did not line up with the holes on the door. RHM,Jr. will be sending Legendary Interiors a letter and pictures describing the problem. We reassembled the panel the best we could to make it to the car show. We followed up by washing the car and making it ready for the trip. |
