11/10//04  - More Paint!!!

The process of getting the paint on the car has not been as rapid as we would have hoped. There are many things you can control, but weather is not one of them. Our paint facility is not climate controlled therefore we are at the mercy of mother nature to provide a strech of weather condusive to applying paint. The weather in East Texas over the last month and a half has been unseasonably humid with nearly constant rain. Lately, sun light and low humidity have been very rare.

The weather finally cooperated with us over the last few days and the unmasked exterior portion of the car has been painted the stunning modern Chrysler PEL Inferno Red.

10/14/04 - Fender Mounted Turn Signals Arrive!

Here is a picture of our fender mounted turn signal indicators. The pair in the front are the new reproduction pieces we received from Krusin' Moons. The pair in the back are the cracked and non-operational ones we took off the car in the beginning.

11/11/04 Dave Calvi provides us with R/T Stripe Measurements

One of the next steps in the near future is to paint on the R/T Bumblebee stripes. At the last minute we realized that we had misplaced our measurements for this procedure and were in a real bind to find them. Despite what you might think this is not easily obtainable information. To our rescue came Dave Salvi in Quincy Massachusetts! An owner of a B7 Blue 68 Coronet R/T. Dave uncovered his car in 27 degree Boston weather and delivered us these photos securing his title as the  Mitchell & Mitchell Restoration MVP for November. THANKS DAVE!

11/12/04 We Have Stripes on our Car!

Our B-Body has earned her stripes today! Dennis did a masterful job in applying the paint to our car. Based on the specs provided by Dave Calvi, our Bumblebee stripes have exceeded our expectations and signify the transformation of this car from a Coronet 440 to an R/T.
