So Bles, how long have you been a color name virus, or what do you call it, a writer?
I don't know, about twelve years, not as long as you've been getting in trouble, Robert, for drawing monsters and twisted muscle men in class. Anyway, I started getting up a lot around the city, like freshmen year in highschool, around the time they turned you down at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, after they saw your morbid drawings. You never did go to art school did you?
No Bles, and I never got arrested. I've taught myself, like you, though I think I turned out a little more original. After highschool I moved to New Mexico, and had my son, it helped me expand and open, it brought my art to a new level. So, you're a writer, do you ever accualy write anything like poems, stories, ect?
Well, that's not what Graff is about to me, it's about bringing individual words or names to a physical level, to have them jump out with statement, personality and universal meaning, like how animals have their one sound and that's all they need to say. You can't put it into words, though you poets try, you never succeed. Man, even the act of going out and doing Graff holds more truth than any book! Robert, have you ever had the balls to write any of your epic revelations anywhere besides paper or bathroom stalls?
Well Bles, sometimes you can break more rules and reach more people with an open book, than a closed minded scribble in the subway. And how many people can you reach when you're in jail for criminal damage?
Every genius spends some time in jail, it's all about the struggle. What are you out there doing for the struggle?
Well, art is very progressive and can really change you. There's a lot of beauty in the world to appreciate...but maybe you're right, sometimes I feel like I don't know what the hell I'm doing, my stuff is whack and the art scene is phony. What do think I should do?
I don't know, there's a lot you could do man, I think your stuff is headed in the right direction. I know what you mean though, Come on, let's go get a beer.
I only drink wine, and I only drink alone.
Whatever.
