Introduction- Landboarding is a variation of Power
Kiting, only with a landboard as well,
this is in-between a skateboard, and a snowboard with large wheels, for
traction. In strong winds, landboarders can reach speeds of over 45mph, and get
over 40ft of air between them and the ground! This is definitely not for the
faint hearted, but is a must for any adrenaline junkies!
Who is it for?- Landboarding is for people, usually
above the age of 12, with enough strength to keep hold of a powerful kite, in
moderate wind.
What do I need to get started?- Basically, all you
need is a suitable kite, which your local dealer can advise you on, and the
landboard. Safety gear is highly recommended, and a harness is useful to ensure
you don't loose the kite!
Where are the best places to do this?- Any large,
clear area can be used for landboarding
