Introduction-
Powerkiting is a
fairly new, up and coming extreme sport, with many different variations
including recreational kiting, kite surfing, landboarding, and bugging, there is
something for everyone to do. Be warned! powerkites can have immense power, and
can result in injury, but if you play safe everything will be fine, and you'll
have an amazing time
Who is it for?-
Powerkiting can be
for anyone, from anywhere, at any age. As long as you have the strength, to keep
hold of the kite, you can powerkite.
What do I need to get started?-
To get started in
this sport, all you really need is a large open space, and a kite. For beginners
who are going into recreational kiting, a simple Proteam 8/10 from Flexifoil
will be fine. For areas such as kite surfing and landboarding, you will need to
board, some safety gear, and a harness, and then you're ready to go.
Where are the best places to do this?-
Anywhere where there
is an open space is good for powerkiting. This can be a large field, the beach,
and, obviously, the sea for kite surfers.
Where can I get more information?-
Flexifoil
