| Eclectic Soul Eclectic Soul is an R&B/Disco/Old School Funk project consisting of Petergail Williams and Corey Branigan as the lead vocalists, Thomas Reynolds (Choclair, Jully Black) on guitar, Deryck Roche on drums, Miles Raine on sax, Greg Thomas (Honeymoon Suite, Universal Honey) on keys and of course Rob Brown (Sam Moore, Osee Anderson) on bass. The band got their start at Revival nightclub hosting a Wednesday night house gig. Many people joined the band onstage such as Dan Ackroyd, Billy Newton-Davis, Miles Roberts (who was a regular in the band for a few months) and Spookey Ruben. The show is much more than just music, but a phenomenon, as the audience that came out to Revival found out. Within a month, the large club went from having only 50 to 100 people to filling to capacity at 600 people per night. This was sustained right up to Sept. 12th when the band and the club parted ways. The band has since played at various corporate functions including the "Roots" party held at The Courthouse in Toronto, to celebrate the success of the athletes and Roots at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. The band has also done some shows at the Left Bank and The Casino Lounge in Toronto. As of May 22nd, Eclectic Soul has returned to Revival for the summer doing what we do best: electrifying Wednesday nights in Toronto. Come check out Eclectic Soul every Wednesday at Revival. |
