The 3rd Dutch Mole
Episode 7
Elimination aftermath
Last time, Karen had to leave. She was top suspect of four of the six remaining
contestants! When she leaves, Harry says:"Well, goodbye my
Mole." Upon which everyone starts laughing nervously. John:"This
is unbelievable." Prince:"Now it's getting
exciting."
Everyone is laughing as Karen leaves the hangar.

Harry:"Now what? Now the big game can start. I really have no
idea!"
John:"The elimination was one big smack in my face. I didn't
expect it and I'm clueless now."
George:"There was some panick. I already explained my
strategy how I vote for more Moles on the questionnaire. But they probably all
voted for Karen and got through the executions by luck. Karen wasn't my Mole
anymore."
Prince:"She fooled us all. And this means the real Mole is
still among us and there's just 6 of us left, so it's very exciting now."
Day 13 Evora camping place
The contestants are tired. They talked about Karen's elimination for a long
time. For four contestants, the Mole had been executed.

Ellen:"I thought Karen was The Mole and that's a big
confrontation if it turns out you're wrong."
Harry:"I was absolutely convinced it was her."
John:"But it was so obvious. She played a game with us."
Jantien:"It can be positive for me that Karen has left, but
negative too, because a lot will be suspecting Ellen too now and that's not so
good for me. But they don't know as much about Ellen as I do, because they have
focused on Karen."
Harry:"My Mole has gone and I'm clueless. And I'm very tired
and I miss my children a lot and my wife too. It's never been so bad."
Jantien:"It's fun again. We kind of fell asleep during the
game, but we're totally awake now."
The host needs a duo that hasn't been together yet. They go for John
and Jantien:
The remaining four contestants have a different challenge. Before they start they can think about how well they know each other.
Montemor-O-Novo
John and Jantien have to herd sheep. There are 100 sheep in a pen
and they have to get half of them into another pen 300 meters away. They get an
hour to do so. If they succeed, they win 10,000 . However, if there's at
least one sheep more or less than 50 in the other pen, they have to pay 10,000
. They get help from a dog and can choose one among 3 possible herding dogs.
They choose the Border Colli
Evora
The next challenge takes place at the Praηa 
do Giraldo in Evora. It's
terrace which have hidden cameras everywhere. All focused on one table. The
contestants are going to spy on each other. Prince is first up. He's
sitting in a building and can see the table on a monitor. He's told that Ellen
will be sitting at that table with the production assistant. The production
assistant will be called away and she leaves her cigarettes behind. Someone will
come to Ellen and ask her for a cigarette. Will she give one or not? If Prince
gets it correct, they win 1,000 . Prince thinks she will give one.
Ellen and the production assistant are sitting at the table. She gets a
phone call and walks off, leaving Ellen alone. A man walks up and asks
her for a cigarette. Ellen:"It's from my friend." The
man asks it again. Ellen:"I don't think so, it's from her."
But then she gets a bit annoyed obviously and gives the man a cigarette. Prince
was right and they win 1,000 .

Jantien and John have decided to first get 50 sheep out of the pen. John lifts them over the fence one by one. This method takes them 35 minutes! They only have 25 minutes left.

John:"I did have a different idea at first: to let them all out
and get all 100 sheep to the other pen and then separate 50 from the group. And
then Jantien said we shouldn't do that and then afterwards she did agree."
Jantien:"And John had lifted all those sheep over the fence,
while... we should have just opened the fence!! (laughs) That's just so
stupid."
Jantien drags the dog towards the group of sheep. Together with John they try to get them to the other pen. They have already separated 50 sheep. They have to make sure they get all 50 sheep into the pen 300 meters away.

Ellen is taken to Prince and the host and realises
it was a setup. Now it's her turn to spy on George. A poet will arrive
with a story in Portuguese and asks if he can write a poem for George. Ellen
thinks he will like it and will do it. They start watching. Ellen:"But
does he have some money on him? This is so chaotic."
The production assistant leaves George. The poet arrives, George
looks at the paper he hands over and shakes his head and wants the man to leave.
George arrives with the others and the host asks what the
man wanted from him. George:"I think he just wanted money." Host:"No
he wanted to write you a poem." George:"Oh really...
well I didn't really feel like it."

George:"I thought he had a letter to beg. With a stick in his
hands. He looked clean and all though. But I looked at the letter and saw
something Portuguese and I didn't feel like it, so I tried to get rid of him and
I didn't even make any eye contact anymore either, which is very rude, but
that's the way I am sometimes."
Ellen thought George would say yes and so they
missed out on 1,000 . George will now spy on Harry. A taxi will
stop nearby and a lovely girl will come out. She will ask Harry if he has
some money for the taxi, because she doesn't have any and her wallet is at her
appartment, so she will pay it back. Will Harry give her some money or
not? George thinks he will.
The production assistant has left Harry behind and a few minutes later,
the girl arrives. She asks him for help. Harry says he hasn't got much
money on him and he can't give it away. George is disappointed in Harry.
Ellen says she would have given it.
Harry joins the rest. He says he normally would have given the girl some
money, but didn't do it now, because the money he had was the group's money.
They missed out on 1,000 again.

Harry:"Pity. Pity for the money we've lost. But on the other
hand it's good that there's suspicion on me now. There's no harm in that."
The host tells Prince to go down to the terrace for a
different task. He will have to wait for a while there. Prince leaves,
but is totally aware of what will happen of course. He knows he'll get a
dilemma. There's a drummer nearby. He probably thinks the challenge is whether
he will give the drummer some money or not. But the real dilemma is that at the
moment the drummer asks him for money, a beautiful Portuguese girl will walk by.
Will he look back at her or not? Harry immediately says he will. However,
the host tells him he can try to double the money won if he's right. So 1,000
plus the 1,000 he would win, would be doubled to 4,000 . Harry
is asked if he wants to go for all or nothing (0 or 4,000 ). Harry
takes the risk and goes for all or nothing. If he's correct, they win 4,000 .
If not, they lose the 1,000 they had already won and will have won nothing.
The drummer arrives and he asks people around for money. When he comes at Prince's
table, the girl comes walking past. She smiles at him. Prince pays the
drummer as the girl walks by. He doesn't look back at her. They have lost the
money won.
George:"See? Prince is a polite guy, he won't look back like
that."
Harry:"Sure he would. He's done so quite a few times
before."

Harry:"I was convinced he would do it, because when the three of
us, John, Prince and me, are in the car, we look around a lot too. But he didn't
do it and I went for all or nothing and so I lost everything."

13 minutes left for Jantien and John. They have arrived at the pen and the sheep are running into it. Jantien quickly closes the pen. However, they know it's not all 50 of the sheep. Soms sheep have left the group and they still have to get those into the pen.

The others arrive at Prince's table. The host tells him it didn't work out and that he probably thought the dilemma was the drummer. Prince:"No, my dilemma was probably the girl who walked past." Host:"And the question was whether you'd look back or not." Prince:"I didn't look back, I saw her coming, so I had already seen her, I didn't have to look back again." There 46,300 in the kitty.

22 seconds left and Jantien and John have got 7 sheep together and try to get them into the pen. It doesn't work out and time's up. They have to pay 10,000 . Jantien says she doesn't like the sheep and the dog, which was taking a bath in the drinking water of the sheep. 36,300 in the kitty.

Jantien:We failed, we should've bound that dog to the fence, because
it ran around like a mad man and it chased one sheep among the pigs. And the
sheep was just bleating there between all the pigs and we couldn't get it out.
The dog was tired and she didn't listen to us. I took the dog and yelled 'Look!
The sheep are over there! Help us!' and it went to lie down under a tree.
Everything went wrong."
John:"Looking back, we did it the worst way possible. But we
didn't do that bad after all."
They arrive with the rest and explain the challenge.

Harry:"John did his best to lift 50 sheep over that fence.
Jantien's role in the challenge is a bit unclear to me, but she has failed more
challenges. But I just don't think it's Mole actions, I guess she just fails at
it."
Jantien:"I guess I've made myself look suspicious again too
and that John could have used that to make me suspicious. We should have just
let out all 100 sheep and get them to the other pen without using the dog and
then isolating 50 of them in the pen. But I don't get up with such ideas, I
thought we were doing a great job herding those sheep."
Day 14 Evoramonte
At a church they have a small test to see how well they know each other. There
are 6 statements about each contestant, made by someone they know and they have
to choose the statement which they think
is about them.
The 6 statements are:
'Can be light-hearted about things'
'A person you can ask advice to'
'Used to be uncertain, but is completely himself/herself now'
'Says what he/she thinks and expects the same from others'
'Will become quiet and agitated when feeling tired'
'Is very kind, but can be hard and clear'
Jantien thinks the light-hearted one could be her. George
is thinking about who could have said it: his housemate, his drinking brother or
his brother.
They think the 'says what he/she thinks...' is for John. Ellen
thinks the person one can ask advice too is for Harry or Jantien. Harry
thinks it's not for him and Jantien says it could be Ellen herself
too, but she thinks otherwise. She also thinks someone said George would
be completely himself now. After a while they each choose a statement. They have
to put it with their pictures. If it's all correct, they win 5,000 .
Ellen is taken away. She's standing at the end of a road. She choose the
statement 'Is very kind, but can be hard and clear'. If it's correct,
someone will be running towards her through the street. Ellen waits. We
see someone walking in the distance, but it's some locals of the village. The
host returns and says she is 'A person you can ask advice to' according
to
her father.
Harry is next. He has 'Used to be uncertain, but is completely
himself/herself now' and is waiting at the end of the street too... Again no
one arrives. His wife said he 'Can be light-hearted about things'. He is
taken to Ellen where they wait together for the results of the rest.
Prince is up. He chose 'Will become quiet and agitated when feeling
tired' and waits for someone at the end of the street too. He waits.. and
waits... and then suddenly his girlfriend appears! they hug and kiss each other
an are taken to Ellen and Harry, who have no visitors. Prince
presents his girlfriend Judith to them.
Jantien has 'A person you can ask advice to' which is wrong,
because we already know that was Ellen's statement. No one appears and
according to her mother, she 'Used to be uncertain, but is completely
himself/herself now'. Without a visitor she is taken to the others.

Jantien:"It was wrong. You're standing there in that street. And
no one comes running towards you and you feel bad. Because someone from home is
somewhere nearby in the village, but she can't come because you chose the wrong
statement and that's very hard. But I didn't want to cry, because I have cried
enough. It's terrible if you cry in front of the camera!!"
George has chosen 'Can be light-hearted about things'
which is wrong, because that's what Harry's wife said. So no one arrives.
According to his friend Mark he 'Is very kind, but can be hard and clear'.
Fortunately he's not the only one. George is sad. Because it was his best
friend who said it and he lives in Australia nad hasn't seen him for a while.
John's turn. He has 'Says what he/she thinks and expects the same from
others' and is waiting in the street. His girlfriend walks around the corner
and they too hug and kiss each other. He presents them to the others.
The four contestants who missed out on their visitors can still arrange a
meeting, but it will cost them 3,000 per person. Harry doesn't need
much time to think about it.

Harry:"It's a lot of money but I don't care at all!"
He pays 3,000 and meets his wife! The other three don't matter either and pay 9,000 to see their beloved. Ellen is joined with her father, Jantien with her mother and George with his best friend Mark. They all go on a picknick and have fun together. There's 24,300 in the kitty.
For once, the confession cam is with 2 people. Namely the
contestant together with the visitor:
Harry:"I had a bad day yesterday. I didn't feel great and wanted
to go home because I missed you and I'm very happy now, this is great!"
Oes (Harry's wife):"He could be The Mole because he's capable
of playing that role. He would have some difficulties with it at times, but he's
capable of it."
Soumaya (John's girlfriend):"Yeah, he's a good liar! I can't,
but he has surprised me and fooled me, so if I fall for it, others will too,
because they don't know him as well as I do."
Harrie (Ellen's father):"I think she can. The role would be
perfect for her."
Dineke (Jantien's mother):"I don't know. Maybe she is, maybe
she isn't. I don't have an opinion about it."
Mark (George's friend):"No, he isn't the Mole, because you
can see every emotion on his face. I can anyway. I don't think he can hide much.
It would surprise me."
Judith (Prince's girlfriend):"He would absolutely be the
perfect Mole!"
Soumaya (John's girlfriend):"I think John really wants to
win. If he's not The Mole anyway. But if he plays a game, he wants to win
it."
Dineke (Jantien's mother):"She's very self confident, she
could win."
Jantien:"Hmmyeah, but I do find it difficult to say I can
win, because you're still not sure if you will be eliminated or not. It's hard
to say. Everyone plays the game really well."
Dineke (Jantien's mother):"Yes that's true, now that I've
seen the other contestants I thought it would be very difficult."
Oes (Harry's wife):"If he could win? Hmmm I don't know. It
could be possible. But he has to keep his head in the game very well then."
Harry:"But I think I'll be able to do that now."
Prince:"Who I think will win? I hope Prince. It will be
difficult, because I made a mistake. I focused on one person. If I don't get
eliminated I can stand a chance."
Suspicions
After Karen's departure, four contestants had to find a new Mole. They had to
get to know a lot of information about that new Mole.
John:"I really thought Karen was The Mole. My notebook was filled
with facts about Karen. I do think it's a woman. My new ole is Jantien. In the
challenge where we had to find the center of the triangle, she didn't have any
contact with me at all. In the money van challenge I felt she was leading me
into the wrong direction, so those are some clues I have."
Harry:"I think Karen and Kerstin have voted for a man, so if
I think logically it has to be a man."
Jantien:"I'm still voting for Ellen. She guided me over the
parallelling ropes very gently, which cost us the bonus. At the paintballing she
shot Prince and went for the exemption. Which was very smart, as a Mole you
don't need the exemption and it cost us 10,000 . And then there's Kerstin's
kidnap. She slowed down the search by saying Kerstin was just walking around
somewhere, so that cost us 5,000 . So in three days time she cost us 18,000
and then I think 'Hmmm well done you Mole.'."
Prince:"I knew everything about KAren and that's so weird.
You know so many about her and she isn't The Mole after all. I've wasted two
valuable weeks and I immediately thought 'How could I have been so stupid?'. But
there's still one contestant who has got to be The Mole. I have to make a
choice, which I find very difficult."
George:"Jantien... I'm afraid to change my mind. Jantien
period. No I don't know."
Ellen:"I thought Karen was The Mole yeah. I did every test
with a lot of confidence and now I'm surprised I'm still in because I've been
wrong 6 times."
Suspicious in this episode
John
and Jantien didn't succeed in herding the
sheep.
Harry lost all money won in the challenge by taking the bet and failing
it.
Prince didn't look back at the girl, although he did do it before
according to Harry.
Ellen, Harry, Jantien and George had the wrong
statement and each paid 3,000 to see their visitors.
Elimination
It's a special elimination, because the visitors are sitting next to the
contestants. At least they know they have some company to fly home with if they
are eliminated. But who will it be?
