It isn't elimination time just yet! All contestants are surprised, they were ready to possibly leave, but first they have to do a nightly challenge. In the portal of a church there is a magnet, powered by the batteries they charged while cycling. A ball hangs on it and if the batteries run out it will fall. If they catch it they will win 5,000 € plus the person who catches it will win an exemption. But it won't matter so much for most people, because the questionnaires have already been made and the results are known. But if the worst scorer catches the ball, that person can stay. No one will go home in that case.

Harry:"The elimination was confusing. I was ready for it, but it didn't come."
John:"I didn't expect it. I felt like 'Well another one is leaving' because you are looking forward to it a bit that the group is getting smaller."
Harry:"When I heard what challenge we had to do I thought 'No, I'm tired and I want to go to sleep.' and then there's the group again, which has to decide with 9 people what is going to happen and that's always such a fuss and it takes ages, so I always try to distance myself from it, because it drives me crazy."

The group is discussing the situation in the portal. Karen:"I think this is something which is going to take several hours. There's a risk that, if we're standing here with more people, we all try to catch it at the same time and we hinder each other and it still falls on the ground." Prince:"Yeah only one person should be standing here."
Harry:"Do we want to catch this ball?" Prince:"Yes of course, it's 5,000 €and an exemption."
Harry:"Are you obliged to catch it? Isn't it possible that some people just don't want to catch the ball because they don't feel like it? But then of course, you can't get the exemption either."
Kerstin:"Let's just divide the night into pieces and for each piece a person has to stand there catching it. We don't know when it's going to fall. And if it happens to fall when I am standing there, the exemption goes to me."
They also have to take care of themselves. The have to put up their tents and cook a meal. The people who have children use the phone minutes to phone home and George can phone his mother.

9:00 pm the challenge starts. Everyone is very tired, but they all want to catch the ball in case they have scored worst in the questionnaire. They have no idea how long it will take. Karen made a list of who has to catch when.

CC
John:"We have different shifts. If it's your turn you can sit down and try to catch it."
Dick:"Everyone has to catch for half an hour."
Harry:"The scheme is made till 3:00 am and then it starts again from the top."

Prince is standing under the magnet and Ellen is with him. Prince:"I'm gonna catch it!" Ellen:"Oh ok, so tell me, how badly do you need that exemption then?" Prince:"I think I've just answered all questions too quickly or I didn't think logically while answering them."

Prince:"I'm stressed, because in the questionnaire the time counts too and I have just clicked some questions away quickly without thinking about it."

11:30 pm
Harry is catching and Dickand Georgeare with him. Harry looks down for a second.
George:"Harry you have to do as you're told!" Harry:"I think I can look down for just a second?"
George:"I don't think so, that wasn't what we agreed, right Dick?" Dick:"Nope, you have to look up constantly." George:"Yeah, you're not just standing there, you're standing there to catch 5,000 €!"
George:"You just sit down, I don't trust you!"

Harry:"The money doesn't interest me one bit. I don't even know how much money is in the kitty. The others think about it that way too. As far as money is concerned, no one really cares, at least that's what they say. Except for George, he's really in it for the money. But he does it in such a fun way, that everyone forgives him."

1:15 am
Kerstin is catching and Jantien and George are with her. George:"I have the theory of the dormant Mole. He will strike when we are all very tired. And you know what else I think? If you are so eager to let a challenge succeed, you're so busy trying to win it, that you're not paying attention to each other."
Kerstin:"Yes, but that's interesting what you just said, because does that mean you deliberately didn't do your best in a challenge just to see how the others are behaving?"
George:"I am putting al of my energy in it, but also focus on the others. If you play it well enough, that Mole will automatically become visible ."
2:30 am we see Kerstin, John, Ellen and Prince in different shots, standing or sitting under the magnet.
3:45 am Kerstin takes George's place. George leaves. Ellen and Jantien are with Kerstin. Kerstin:"Thanks George, good night." and as she says that, the ball falls!!
It falls on her lap and thus she caught it. Everyone is cheering. They have a total of 29,800 € and Kerstin gets the exemption.

Prince:"I really wanted that exemption."
Harry:"Yeah I could have won an exemption, but I wouldn't have taken it in this case."
Prince:"If you know that you get another 2 extra days to stay and to figure out more clues about your Mole, it's always good."

Day 7 Mondin de Basto
Did Kerstin need the exemption? It's time to find out. If she gets a red screen, she can stay, everyone can stay. But if she wasn't the worst scorer and gets a green screen, it means someone else has to go...
