The 3rd Dutch Mole
Episode 3

Pamela had to leave last time. Kerstin cried and the others too were in shock, because no one had suspected her to leave so early.

Day 5 Vila Real
The atmosphere is down. Pamela's departure was tough and they realize it's getting serious now.
They have to assign two people who are good at reading the map and communicating with a cell phone. Dick and Jantien are chosen.
The others each get a pass and a cell phone. The two are taken to a building. They get a laptop with a map of Vila Real, where they can see the position of a moving money car. If it's a circle with arrows, it means the car is moving, if not, it means the car is standing still. The car will drive past 7 stores to collect money and will then head back to the place Dick and Jantien are at. For safety reasons, there is a time lock on the car. After having reached its position, it will stay locked for 2 minutes. The laptop shows which street the car is in. Only the driver knows which shop he has to go to to collect the money.
The 7 remaining contestants are dropped separately somewhere in town. They have to collect the money with the help of Dick and Jantien before the driver of the money car collects it. In 10 minutes the car will head to its first location and the two have to find out where the others are and tell them what to do and where to go.

Jantien:"I immediately thought 'Oh no, reading the map is so not me.' If I have to do it for myself it's ok, I always drive past the place I want to go and then drive back and reach it anyway. But reading the map for other people is very difficult for me. But everyone went 'Jantien, you have to do this! Communication! Just your cup of tea!'."
Dick:"Firstly we wanted to find out where the others were, because the car would start driving after 10 minutes."

Dick reads the map on the laptop and Jantien calls Karen, John, Ellen, George, Harry, Prince and Kerstin (who seems to be looking for clues on a graveyard) to find out where they are. The money car starts driving. It's a yellow van. Dick tells Jantien where it is located. Jantien:"We have to locate the others first, because else there's no point. We might know the place of the money car, but..." Dick interrupts by telling her the street the car drives in.
Jantien:"Do we have someone in the neighbourhood there?" Dick:"I don't know." Jantien:"I'll call someone, but you know what, leave the money car as it is for now,..." Dick:"No, because it just stopped." Jantien:"No.. you know.." Dick:"Shhhht, it's standing still!"
The driver gets out and collects the first voucher of money.
Jantien:"Can I talk please? Just leave the car for now, because we won't make it to the first stop anyway. We have to find out where the others are located. That way we can work way more easily." Dick:"It's driving again." And he tells her the street. Jantien calls Karen:"Hey Karen, there should be a car somewhere near you, it's coming from the Rue de Ptedro de Castro." Karen:"Rue de Ptedro de Castro? Oh yeah, at the post office." In the background we see the yellow van passing her, but she doesn't notice it. Dick:"It's driving in our direction!"
Jantien and Dick look out of the window and see a yellow van. Jantien:"It's a yellow van." Dick:"It's turning and heading towards Karen now." Karen starts running. Dick:"It's standing still! She has to go over there now! She has to go over there! She has to go over there!" Jantien:"Yeah yeah, she's going over there." Karen enters the shop, gives her pass and receives 250 €. In every shop there will be another amount
Jantien calls Prince and tells him to run towards their direction very fast. He sees the van and goes after it. The driver gets out, enters a shop and collects the money just as Prince comes running in. He's 2 seconds late and misses out on the money!

Prince:"I have lost a lot of time, because I started moving too late. I was informed where to go to very late."

Jantien:"Oh I still have to call George, he doesn't know what to do yet."
Harry, meanwhile, has seen the van. He's even talking to the driver, probably to find out with shop he'll go to. But he can't find out which shop it is, so he decides to stay put until the driver leaves his car and walks to a shop. He runs after him and barely makes it in the shop on time. He gets 1,000 €.

Harry:"The only instruction I got was to look out for a yellow van. But they didn't tell me where it would be. I accidently saw it and followed it and I was able to get the money. I was very happy about that."

Jantien calls him, but she's too late of course, he already has the money. Jantien:"Did you know you had to wait for a yellow car?"

Jantien:"I'm going to quit this challenge, I'll throw the table aside and thought 'Find out yourself!'. I kept on thinking 'How long is this going to take?!'."

She calls John and they guide him to the market place Meanwhile, Harry brings the money to Dick and Jantien, because all the money has to be brought to them before the yellow van arrives there.
John sees the van and runs to the market place. But there are a lot of shops there. He goes to every shop asking if they have the money. He's asked about 10 shop owners and then suddenly sees the driver collecting the money from another shop owner. He goes to the driver:"Want to change? Give me the money! Come on give me the money! You're not in your car yet!"

John:"When the money was taken away in front of my nose after I had run to all the other shops, I thought 'You're not going outside!' As long as he wasn't in his car, the money is mine!"

Jantien calls Ellen, who sees the van and starts running. John accompanies her. There's 3 chances left to collect money. The van drives to a gas station. Ellen runs to the gas station and collects the money. But it's only 50 €. They are disappointed because it isn't much. John takes Ellen's cellphone to talk to Jantien and he asks her if she is getting an exemption.

Jantien:" 'Do you have an exemption?! I want to know right know, do you have an exemption?!' and I thought get bent!"

Jantien calls George. He sees the yellow van, he's even standing right next to it, but he doesn't know what he's supposed to do.

George:"And then there were very difficult instructions again... actually there weren't any instructions at all, the money van was right on front of me, what did I have to do?"

John and Ellen bring the 50 € to Dick and Jantien. George collects money too. It seems he's putting something in his pocket. Jantien tells him he has to run back very fast, because he has to bring the money to them before the van has arrived. George asks some people the road to the destination he has to go to. The people point left, however for some reason, George runs to the right.
After a while, Jantien and Dick see him running. The yellow van is arriving too, but George is just in time and hands over the money.

Kerstin:"As long as it's about individual challenges such as jumping from a dam, travel a distance in a water vehicle,... it all goes great. From the moment we're split into different teams and some people have to guide others, it just doesn't work anymore."

The contestants (except for Dick and Jantien) are talking about how bad the instructions were. Karen:"I was running towards a white van and suddenly they said 'Oh no, it's yellow, you have to go back!'."

Jantien:"Dick probably thought it was extremely difficult to work together with me... so... I don't... oh well let's just shut up about it..."

George: got 1,000 €, Harry too, Ellen got 50 € and Karen got 250 €. So together they have 2,300 €, which brings the total of the kitty to 29,800 €.
Dick and Jantien can finally explain the others how difficult it was.

Dick:"They found we had a very difficult task. After hearing how hard it was for Jantien and me, they thought we had done pretty well. But before that we have probably been called all kinds of ugly names. Some of them had done a big effort."

At the beginning of their journey, the contestants all got an envelope which they were not allowed to open. Two days ago, they couldn't control their curiosity and they decided to all open the envelopes at the same time. flashback "Dear Jantien, Even though you were told by Angela not to open the envelope, you did it anyway. Call this secret phone number and tell your name to the answering machine. You will get more instructions later on. Maybe I'll have a surprise for you. The Mole."

John:"We all got a phone number we had to call to. As much as possible."
Kerstin:"I thought, you know what, I'll just go to the house of the owner and ask if I can use the phone. I dialled the number, an answering machine asked me to tell my name, I said Kerstin and I hung up."
Ellen:"On the moment that I was dialling the number my heart was really pounding. I felt I was doing something really bad."
Harry:"I could get hold of a phone. I don't know whose it was anymore. The important thing is that I've called." We see him taking a cell phone and saying:"Yes, Harry speaking... I will wait for further instructions... I will hear from you... thank you." (which is kind of weird, because it's an answering machine he's talking to)
Jantien:"It was really fun to sneak out secretly with the money we got to buy food with and to run to a pub and call the number there."

Day 6 Vila Real
They have to cycle up a mountain to a church which is located on top. It's the 'Tour of Portugal' they have to do. First they have to appoint two leaders. Prince and John are chosen. They have to select team partners. John chooses Jantien, Ellen Harry and Dick. Prince chooses Kerstin, Karen and George.The team that reaches the top within the hour, wins 5,000 €. If they both reach the top within the hour, they win 10,000 €. Also, the first team to finish, wins 5 minutes to call home. If they don't arrive within the hour, they will lose 5,000 €. 
If they put on foot on the ground the person has to change with someone else. For each change, they lose 1 minute. The leaders have to start first. Attached on the back of the bikes are batteries. They get powered by the cycling and are needed for another challenge. But they don't know that.
There's always one person of the team cycling, the others follow by car.
These are the two teams:

After a while, Prince changes with Kerstin. John too changes, Jantien takes over. A while later, Karen takes over from Kerstin. 16 minutes later, Karen gives up and Goerge takes over.

Jantien:"At home I cycle really well. I cycle a lot, but this is totally different. always uphill and with such a shitty bike!"

Jantien:"Shitty bike! I can't anymore, I'm almost falling over!" Ellen takes over.
George barely gets ahead and swinging over the road. Prince:"Try to cycle in a straight line, George!" George:"The gear is to tough!" Karen:"Yeah that's right, I had the same problem." Prince:"How can it be too tough???" Karen:"I don't know."
They encourage George.

Harry:"Ellen was very suspicious today..."

Ellen is cycling. She tries to switch the gear on her bike, but then the chain falls off. She gets off and the others get out of the car to help her. John:"Just let your hands off of that gear!" Harry takes over.

CC
Harry:"The chain fell off too when she was cycling. It was the first time that I thought 'Hey someone else than my Mole is being suspicious.'."

Harry changes for the second time and they aren't even halfway. They have cycled for 26 minutes now and Prince's team passes John's team. A lot of changing is going on too. On the road there are lots of names of previous cyclists who have been in the Tour of Portugal, but suddenly it also says GO MOLE! and the names ELLEN and JANTIEN can be seen too.

Kerstin:"I really let myself down today. I had such high expectations of myself."

Karen takes over from Kerstin.

Karen:"I cycled more than Kerstin and Kerstin said she cycles 60 km per day in summer."
Kerstin:"I wanted to cycle more, faster and much more and I just did so little."
Karen:"I think it's strange that she cycled such short distances then. She's making herself suspicious that way."

They are halfway and have cycled 29 minutes.
George is advancing really slowly and it takes him a lot of effort. The others are encouraging him. Karen yells:"You're a hero! Oh my god!" Prince takes over. It's all up to him now, they can't change anymore or they will definitely lose.

Kerstin:"What George did today was absolutely stunning. He went on that bike and in the beginning we were all struggling with the gear and it was such a wreck of a bike. We had to make do with it and what he did... definitely in his second and third try. I thought it was phenomonal. Every time when we thought he would get off and maybe even when he himself thought he'd get off, he kept on finding the power to continue and I thought it was fantastic."

52 minutes 11 seconds have past. Jantien is struggling to get up the hill.
52:18 Prince reaches the finish! The other three run out of the car and congratulate him. Karen:"This is so great! You both are so extremely great!"
The host tells them they took 52 minutes and asks them how many times they have changed. Karen:"We changed 12 times... F*CK!!!" George:"No it was 8 times, wasn't it?" Karen:"No all of us have cycled 3 times. SH*T!!"
Kerstin:"How many minutes did we have too much then?" Karen:"4 minutes. That must have been in the beginning when we were struggling with the gear and changed so many times."
Prince is trying to comfort George. They both are very disappointed. Karen:"Oh my god, but you two are such heroes!"
George:"And the other team hasn't even arrived yet and they were with 5 people."
57:10 and Harry reaches the finish. Together with the number of changes they are 15 minutes late. They lose 5,000 €, but the first team does get 5 minutes to phone home. The kitty now stands at 24,800 €
Harry:"Can I know what the batteries were for now?"
Host:"You'll find out later."
Prince:"OK who wants to phone home?" Ellen:"I'm giving my minutes to someone who has children."
Prince asks Karen if she wants to call. Karen is crying because of the loss of the challenge:"No but I am going to cry my eyes out!" Dick has set himself apart. Everyone is disappointed.

Ellen:"I notice that some people in the group feel very emotional. People cry and lots of things are talked about. So I let them phone home. I think it will do them good."

Suspicions
Dick:"I think it's a woman, but there are still 4 left in the game so I have to choose one out of them. Yesterday I thought I knew it, but now I'm doubting again."
John:"Karen is the Mole because my feeling still go strongly towards her. The way she reacts at things.. nervous, panicky. She's trying to do her best too much not to be The Mole." flashback Karen:"You're a hero! Oh my god!"
Kerstin:"Today has changed nothing about my thought as to who's The Mole, I stick with Karen."
Harry:"Karen is The Mole, I'm sticking to that for now. I have no reasons to change my views. I didn't find any extra reasons today that she could be The Mole, but I didn't find any clues that it could be someone else either so I'll stick to Karen."
Karen:"All together I think Jantien is The Mole. flashback Pamela gets the red screen and Jantien is crying afterwards. "After the elimination she was so upset. As if she felt it was her fault."
George:"I'm afraid to let go of Karen as The Mole, but my attention is going more and more towards Jantien. She says she can't read a map, which I understand, but when she was communicating with me she was so confused. flashback George:"'The Mole' is written on the van in big letters... What do I have to do?"
Jantien:"I think Ellen's The Mole... still. I slept in the same room as her and then she suddenly said she was going to get some water out of the car and that was such crap, because we were in a hotel, there was a bar. She just disappears from time to time, but it could also be some kind of strategy. I'm going to stick to my theory and if it's wrong I'll have to go home. I think a lot of people will be surprised, because they thinks it's me."
Prince:"I doubted about Ellen, because her name was written on the road and a bit further it also said 'GO MOLE!' in red letters."
Ellen:"I'm thinking about John. He wanted to be leader in the cycling, but he barely advanced. I'm sticking to John as the Mole."

Suspicious in this episode
Dick and Jantien were very suspicious in the money van challenge.
Prince, Kerstin and John didn't bring any money.
The chain fell off Ellen's bike.
