Episode 3

Ward got eliminated and some contestants didn't really like that...

Day 4
Dan was the first one to lift his hand in the air last episode and he was chosen. The others didn't really like that. Anyway, Dan has to work 24 hours in a hotel. But first, he has to put on some appropriate clothing. When he's back, we see him wearing a Scottish outfit with kilt and all.
In Loch Ness, the others are unpacking their stuff again after that elimination. They sit at a table together. Nazife:"When Angela gives us an assignment, we mustn't immediately say 'Me! Me!'. No, we have to first look at each other and then decide who we'll take." Sigrid:"Exactly, we need more democracy."
A few minutes later, Yvonne and Sigrid are argueing:
Sigrid:"You're the captain in this team and sometimes our leading seaman (pointing to Cor) can say something too..."
Yvonne:"Just look at nature..."
Sigrid:"Yeah, survival of the fittest, come on! If it will continue like that, we'll get the same things as in Germany 50 years ago!"
Yvonne:"No, but putting a group of 8 people together is the same as putting 8 savage animals together."
Sigrid:"I absolutely don't like that! I get afraid of such things."
Yvonne:"Then you shouldn't have participated in this game."
Cor (to Sigrid):"I think you are too much occupied with yourself instead of with the game. You want to profile yourself, but we're here to play a game."
Nico:'I think she just wants to have fun..."
Cor:"She's not having fun!"
Sigrid:"How do you know that? You always think for other people! You tell others how they are, how they feel and what they should be like! You've got such stereotypes in your head!"
Cor:"Yes, very much, you have..."
Sigrid:"I don't have fun, I want to profile myself... I just don't feel super in this group and I want everybody to have more space."
Cor:"I want this and I want that!"
Sigrid:"Guys, am I saying that? Am I yelling 'I want this and I want that'?"
Nico:"No you aren't."
Sigrid:"So are you the only one who's stubborn?"
Cor:"Yep, apparently I am!"
Sigrid:"OK, glad we agree on something then."

Day 5
Dan is still working in the hotel and he's taking care of breakfast for Angela.
Cawdor Castle
There are two groups. Group 1 has to solve 6 riddles, which are spread out in a big garden. For each solved riddle, they win 1.500 gilders, so they can win a total of 9.000 gilders. They get half an hour to do this. Group 1 consists of Yvonne, Björn and Sigrid.
First riddle:
Which day was yesterday if 4 days before the day after tomorrow was a thursday?
Yvonne checks her diary. She thinks it's sunday. The other two agree. They type it in, but a red screen appears. The correct answer was Friday.
Second riddle:
You have a piece of paper which is 0,1 mm thick and you start folding it 30 times. How high will it eventually be? Give the exact answer in mm, cm, m or km.
Sigrid gets a piece of paper and folds it one time. It gets twice as thick. Again she folds it and it gets four times as thick. When she folds it again, it's 8 times as thick. So they think the correct answer is 2³⁰ . But it's very hard to calculate this without a calculator. They guess something, but it's wrong.
Third riddle:
A vagabond can make 1 cigarette out of 6 stubs. How many cigarettes can he make of 36 stubs?
Yvonne immediately says:"Six!" Sigrid:"No, that's too easy." Yvonne:"No it isn't, it's six! A vagabond can make 1 cigarette out of 6 stubs, how many can he make out of 36... yeah... six!!" Björn:"Yeah..." Sigrid:"I don't think it's that easy, but we'll see." They type in six on the laptop and a red screen appears. They are disappointed and like this game anymore. The correct answer was 7, because if he smokes the 6 cigarettes, he has 6 stubs, of which he can make a new one.
Fourth riddle:
Divide 20 by a half and add 3. What do you get?
They think it's 43 and it's correct. It's the first riddles they could solve. 1.500 gilders won.
Fifth riddle:
A bottle of wine costs 10 gilders. The wine costs 9 gilders more than the bottle. How much does the bottle cost and how much the wine?
Sigrid:"So you would think the bottle is 1 gilder and the wine 9, but it isn't. I figured that out by now." Björn:"It's 0,50 and 9,50." And that's correct. They now have 3.000 gilders.
Through a maze they reach the final riddle.
Sixth riddle:
A man is in an old house. It's dark and cold. There's a fireplace, a candle and an oil lamp. The man only has one match. What should he light first?
Sigrid:"I don't think it's the fireplace..." Björn:"The match!" Yvonne agrees. This time, Angela types in the answer. But instead of typing 'match', she types 'matches'. Could the host be the Mole? Or is this a hidden hint? Anyway, they do get a green screen and Björn has to make a sound with a foghorn. That's the sign for group 2 to start solving riddles. They don't have to travel through the garden, but can stay at the same place. But for every riddle they solve, 1.500 gilders will be substracted from the amount, won by group 1. Angela explains to group 1 that one of them can go warn group 2 to stop. But you can't crawl through the bushes and you're not allowed to scream or yell. Sigrid, Yvonne and Björn look at Angela with a strange face. Angela:"One of you can go warn them..." Suddenly all three of them run away. Angela:"ONE OF YOU!!!" Björn and Sigrid come back. So Yvonne tries to warn them, but she doesn't know where group 2 is. And she has to go through the maze too. Sigrid:"Run! Nico is good at this!"
Björn and Sigrid can see the group on a screen. As the camera turns, they see water at the background. Sigrid notifies Yvonne to search for water.
Nico has solved the first riddle. They get a green screen. 1.500 gilders out of the kitty. Yvonne as on a bridge. She sees group 2 and yells:"YES!" (She wasn't supposed to yell, but strangely no one says a thing of it) Then Nazife sees Yvonne:"Is that Yvonne over there?" Yvonne sways her arms around to let them know they have to stop. But she's still very far away and continues running. Group 2 is taken aback. Nico:"Now what?" Nazife:"Yeah, this is bad... I think we have to stop."
Doortje:"She won't come running to us for nothing."
Cor:"Maybe she's the Mole!"
Nazife:"No, she's not the Mole. Because else she wouldn't come running to us and tell us to stop so obviously. It's an assignment, I guess. We don't have to do it."
Nico:"I think so too."
Doortje:"If she's the Mole and she tells us to stop, we all knowshe's the Mole..." Nazife:"Exactly!"
Cor:"And when she gets here, she will have this great story why she had to do it."
Nico:"We have to decide now, or we'll run out of time. What do we do?"
Doortje:"I want to quit."
Cor:"Continue."
Nazife:"Quit."
Nico:"We have to get to a decision."
Nazife:"She won't do this without a reason."
Cor:"We've got to quit!"
Then Yvonne comes running in. "Stop! Stop!" Group 2:"We already have stopped!" So they win 3.000 gilders.

Group 1 has to come along with Angela for another challenge. Dan has had 5 dilemmas in the hotel. Sigrid, Yvonne and Björn have to predict what he did. They have to get 4 out of 5 correct to win 2.500 gilders.
First dilemma:
Dan is let in a room to change clothes. What will he wear? A suit or a kilt?
Sigrid:"If I had to work all day, I wouldn't wear the kilt, because it's too hot." Yvonne:"OK we'll go for the suit." They're wrong. Dan did put on the kilt.
Second dilemma:
There's a man at the bar. The cameracrew is gone, but there's a hidden camera. Dan thinks he's alone with the man. The man starts talking about the Mole in Scotland. It turns out the challenges they had to do are exactly the same of what they had to do. Of course this is a set-up, but Dan doesn't know that. Will he ask the man for more information?
Yvonne:"Yes! Definitely!" Sigrid:"No! If I were there, I wouldn't fall for it." Björn:"Of Dan wants more information!" They go for that answer. And it's correct. Dan asks the man what happened. 3 more dilemmas have to be correct to win.
Third dilemma:
The man offers him a phone to phone home. Will Dan phone home?
Sigrid:"No! He won't phone. If you know a cameracrew can walk in any second, you don't do that." Yvonne:"He won't use the phone even though he's addicted to it." And they're right, Dan declines the offer.
Fourth dilemma:
The Scottish way of wearing a kilt is without underpants. Does Dan wear underpants under his kilt?
Sigrid:"He's wearing underpants!" Yvonne(laughing):"No, he's not wearing underpants!" Björn:"He's naked under that kilt." They're right, Dan is going commando. One dilemma to go. This one has to be right to win the money.
Fifth dilemma:
Dan is in Angela's room without a cameracrew, but with a hidden camera. There's a production map. Will he watch?
Björn:"I don't think he'll watch." Sigrid:"Well... he is eager in winning, so he's capable of doing it." Yvonne:"I don't think he'll look, 'cause he knows they won't just leave him alone like that." They decide that Dan doesn't watch the production map and they're right. They win 2.500 gilders.

That evening they drive to Stuart Castle where they have dinner. They're all wearing kilts. During dinner we hear the contestants' thoughts:
Björn:"I think people suspect me."
Sigrid:"Björn wants to act like the Mole. I don't think I'll fall for that."
Nico:"It's good if people find me suspicious, because if they vote for me, they're not voting for the Mole."
Doortje:"It's a dirty game, but I think more people are playing it."
Yvonne:"You don't trust anyone except for yourself in the game 'Who is the Mole?'."
After having had dinner, Angela rises and says:"Well my friends, I've finished my dessert. There will be no assignment for you, but there is an extra execution right now. You'll be brought to the computer to take the test one by one, and I'll see you later at the execution. Bye!" And she just leaves.
The group is overwhelmed by this announcement. Nazife:"Jeezes!" Yvonne:"Great!" Nazife:"What is this? What about tomorrow?"
We see a part of Sigrid's confession:
"It was so unexpected and if you see what it causes to the group, you think 'Woops...' you know? Expecially when we were left alone, everybody was driven to the wall."
Back at the table, the group is left alone, but filmed by a hidden camera. Björn:"This takes the group a week to get over it, and even then it still leaves a scar." Cor:"No way, if you get a new assignment tomorrow, it'll all be over. Then you're going for the challenge, no matter who got eliminated. That's the game."
A part of Björn's confession:
"This is a cold shower to me. The Mole is about unexpected things and unexpected assignments, but an extra execution is too much."
Back at the table Dan says:"As soon as they got the chance, they did this extra execution. I feel like the production crew is interfering in the group."
Cor:"That could be very well possible."
Dan:"And why? Because they feel that certain people, and I might be one of them, are disturbing the balance of the group. This is the way the production crew tries to make the game interesting."
Doortje:"So you think they did this to get you out of the group?"
Dan:"We'll see..."

Suspicions
Nazife:"I think it's Dan. He was alone all day and the story he told us, seemed to be learnt by heart."
Dan:"I have only been with the group for the last 16 minutes, so I can't base myself to anything. I'm going for Doortje."
Doortje:"I stick to Björn."
Björn:"A lot of riddles went wrong. Sigrid wasn't the only one to blame. The first riddle... Yvonne seemed to be very sure of what she was doing."
Flashback The first riddle Yvonne:"You agree it's sunday?" The riddle with the cigarettes Yvonne:"Yeah! Six!" Sigrid:"I don't think it's that easy, but ok."
Yvonne:"I've voted for Doortje up to now and there's no reason for me to change my mind about it."
Cor:"I hardly saw Dan today, but I think Dan was deliberately chosen yesterday evening. I got to hear his story and I thought 'I'm still going for Dan'."
Nico:"I changed my mind. Up to now I've voted for Dan. His emotions were so real a few minutes ago. I've voted for Sigrid today."
Sigrid:"I'm more and more keeping an eye on him. Today with the riddles, I sensed he wanted to continue. I saw on the screen that he didn't participate in the discussion whether to continue or not... Nico!"
Flashback Nico:"We really have to decide now, or we'll be out of time. What do we do?"
