The Dutch Mole
Episode 7
Arnoud is gone. Four of them are left.
I had this episode on video, so this summary is a bit longer.
Day 12
They finally get to know why they had to drag those surfboards
with them during the hitchhiking. Byron Bay is known for its great waves. Deborah
and Petra go surfing. An Australian guy teaches them how to surf. If they
manage to stand on the board for
5
seconds, they win 5.000 gilders. But it's very hard and they keep falling
off. Angela asks them what's so difficult about it. Deborah:"By
the time you get behind the waves, you have to start paddling, but if it doesn't
work out, you have to go all the way back behind the waves and that's just
killing." Petra:"It's really tough. You have to watch,
paddle, jump everything at the same time. And you have to push yourself up on
your arms and that's very hard." Then we see Deborah falling off
her board and she gets very angry. We hear a piece of Petra's confession:"Deborah
has a lot of mood swings. Her mood changes all the time and I think that's a
good character for the Mole." After a while Petra manages to
stand on her board for more than 7 seconds. She can stop. Deborah has to
save the challenge, but she can't. They lose the challenge.
Meanwhile, Robin and Wilmie have another challenge. They have to
do a circus act with trapezes. They are being taught how to do it. After a while
practising they ask the people if they can do the act they'll have to do. It's
rather complicated and Robin says:"Well, Wimie, it looks great,
but I think... we only have half an hour left and my calf hurts a lot,
so..." Wilmie to the camera:"We quit." Robin:"Well...
'we'? We have to cancel the challenge." We hear a piece of Wilmie's
confession:"I didn't mind that much, because I was very tired. But if he
hadn't said anything, I would have continued."
Day 13
Angela needs two people who have something to do with the sixties.
Love, peace and understanding. Robin suggests Wilmie and Deborah
volunteers too. They have to go to Nimbin, to teach 10 people a Dutch song. If
another Aussie girl can find out which one of the texts she has, is the song the
Nimbin choir is singing, they win 5.000 gilders. They try to write the
Dutch words into English sounding words. And then they try to gather some
people. They find a man, who plays the guitar and a lot of other people. At 4.00
pm the choir gets together and they sing the song. Amazingly the girl guesses
the right one. They win 5.000 gilders.
But Robin and Petra also had a challenge to do. They got two
bracelets. A real one (5.000 gilders) and a fake one (5 gilders). They
have to figure out which one is the real one and which one is the fake bracelet.
They can't take the bracelets with them and they aren't allowed to bring a
jewellor. If they succeed, they win 5.000 gilders. If not, they have to pay
the bracelet. So there will go 5.000 gilders out of the kitty. Petra
draws the bracelets on a piece of paper, minding every detail. After a while she
sees that she accidently (?) drew something on the wrong piece of paper. She
changes it and they go down town. They find two jewellors and they explain
everything. They get a lot of information and they even get a magnifying glass.
They come back and investigate the bracelets one last time. Then Angela takes
them to a cliff next to the sea. She asks which one they think is the fake
bracelet. Robin and Petra give her the bracelet. Angela asks if
they are sure. They both say they are. Angela turns and throws the bracelet from
the cliff into the sea. She looks at Petra and Robin:"Guys...
I just threw away 5.000 gilders!" So the 5.000 gilders, won by Wilmie
and Deborah, are gone already.
Confession
Robin:"I don't think you have to look to the sabotages
that happened in the group, but more at things like, how does the Mole behave in
the group, what does he/she take with him/her. If it would only be the results
of the challenges, it would be too obvious, I think. I think the Mole was told
to cooperate to the challenges as much as possible."
Wilmie:"I like it when I can read people. When I can
understand how they feel and what they think. And if it turns out I'm wrong, I
would start doubting about by human knowledge. But I've already made a big
mistake thinking Warner was the Mole, so... I can still doubt."
Deborah:"Robin has said from day one, that he wanted to win,
but he doesn't put other people aside for that or anything. I like Petra most,
but she's not my favourite. We're just 2 girls, we do a lot together."
Petra:"I would like to win. I really want to be in the
finale. If I'm on the plane I might think that I lost a lot of money. You can do
some nice things with that."
Suspicions
Petra:"I still think Wilmie might be the Mole, but that
would be too obvious. I think everyone that had to go, voted for Wilmie, so I go
for Deborah now."
Wilmie:"Deborah is so honest and so friendly. I don't think
it's her. I still think it's Robin. I got that acknowledged again yesterday. FLASHBACK:
The challenge with the trapezes: Robin:"And my calf really hurts a
lot, so..." Wilmie:"We quit."
Deborah:"Luckily I changed my
mind about Arnoud, 'cause he's gone now, so maybe that's good for me. Wilmie is
very silent. If she is the Mole and she's always gone and everything... I think
you have to play it better as a mole. So there's only Robin left. Robin is the
Mole."
Robin:"Everything you see and hear from Deborah are real
emotions and I wonder whether it's a good move to let a mole show real emotions.
I'm just following my intuition now, and my intuition tells me 'Robin, Wilmie is
the Mole.' If Wilmie has to go tonight I will be surprised, because then I've
voted for the wrong Mole for 5, 6 episodes and I will be wondering why I still
would be in the game, because Wilmie
wouldn't be the Mole and then I think something's wrong with the procedure of
which contestants are sent home."
Suspicious for the viewers
Deborah couldn't
stand on the surfboard for 5 seconds.
Robin and Wilmie gave up on their act.
Robin and Petra chose the wrong bracelet.
The Execution
Since this is a very weird and special execution, for one time
you can't click on the pictures to see who gets eliminated. Here's how it went:
The contestants are sitting on a bench. Robin wants them to hold hands, but Deborah says her hands are all sweaty.
Angela:"My friends... the last execution. The hardest execution."
The camera zooms in at Robin and we hear his voice:"Wilmie
is the Mole. Robin, Wilmie is the Mole."
Then Wilmie gets zoomed in. "No, I still think Robin is the
Mole."
Angela:"But you have to realize that you're with the last contestants and that's something to be proud about."
Petra gets zoomed in:"My feeling tells me to go
for Deborah and I'm willing to take that risk."
And finally Deborah gets zoomed in:"I think it's Robin."
Angela starts with Petra. She types in her name. And
when she presses Enter, a GREEN SCREEN appears.
Petra can stay. She's very happy. Angela congratulates her.
Deborah is next. She too gets a green screen.
Deborah and Petra kiss each other. And then Deborah sighs
and looks at Robin and Wilmie as if she feels guilty she could
stay and one of them can't.
Robin:"I have to go."
Petra:"No..."
Robin:"Of course I have."
Angela asks Robin whether he's ready.
We hear Robin's voice:"Petra... GREEN! Deborah... GREEN! It's all over for me now!"
Angela types in his name.
She presses Enter and...
He has a GREEN SCREEN.
Robin can stay! Wilmie has to go. Robin
doesn't understand a thing of it. He just stares in the distance, while Petra
and Deborah say goodbye to Wilmie. Finally he stands up and
hugs her too.
Robin:'I was very amazed. Amazed that I got a green screen. Amazed
that I could stay. And then I thought about Wilmie, because you know the red
screen follows. And then you are amazed about how many times you just had the
wrong Mole!"
Petra:"I thought Robin would have to go home and he thought that himself too.He also had a green screen, so there's one left andthat's Wilmie. Wilmie had to go. But because Robin reacted like 'Game over' and everything... you could see he really thought he had to go. So now I know for sure he isn't the Mole"
Deborah:"You just don't know who you can trust anymore. And when you start suspecting someone else, everything he or she does becomes suddenly very suspicious and... So I'm just gonna stick to Robin from now on."
