Ten famous Dutch people, five men and five women, travel to Argentina for the adventure of a lifetime. They'll have to work together to succeed in challenges and to win money for the kitty. But one of them tries their best to work against them. One of them is a traitor, a saboteur... a mole. The money in the kitty is for the one person who knows the answer to the question: Who is The Mole?
Watch the opening credits of the show:
Day 1
The contestants arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where they
have to hand in their personal belongings. The new host, Karel van de Graaf
tells them two contestants, one man and one woman, have to leave the group
immediately. They will come back to the group in episode 3. If they don't agree
on anyone, the producers will, but that'll cost them 1,000 euro.
Liz immediately volunteers, to much surprise of Richard. Roderick
also wants to go, he thinks 1,000 euro is a lot of money and sacrifices himself
for the group.
We are taken back to Schiphol, Holland, where new host Karel van
de Graaf boards the plane. The stewardess helping him is a familiar face! It's
Holland's series 1 to 5 Mole host Angela Groothuizen!!

The eight contestants get a short amount of time to get to
know each other. Every detail counts, because this is part of a challenge later
on!
Mary-Lou:"Did you lie today?"
Chris:"Today I lied... two times already."
Mary-Lou:"Really?!!"
Toine
van Peperstraten, tv host of Studio Sport.
CC
Toine:"I expect to be the winner in three weeks and that I
unmask the Mole. I have high expectations of the show!"
Toine tells Peggy he's going to win. Peggy:"Why, because you are The Mole?" Toine:"Because I have good strategy."
Peggy
Vrijens, actress in Costa!
CC
Peggy:"I get along well with people mostly. I can get irritated
quickly, but in general I'm quite nice. Too nice maybe."
Richard asks Mary-Lou's favourite animal. Mary-Lou:"A squirrel. You can fly from tree to tree and are free for a short moment. But in reality you're not free. That's deep, huh?!"
Mary-Lou
van Stenis, actress in 'Vrienden voor het leven' (Friends for life)
CC
Mary-Lou:"My expectations of this show? I expect to wake up to
soft Chopin music, a massage... but I guess it'll be very hard."
Peggy asks Chris how long he's been smoking. Chris:"I've
been smoking since I was 15 years old."
Peggy:"Are you a good liar?"
Chris:"In normal life, I'm not. But in games I can lie very
well."
Chris
Tates, actor in 'Rozengeur & Wodka Lime' (also short appearance in Ocean's
Twelve)
CC
Chris:"I'm usually someone who flies under the radar. You can't
easily get to me."
Frederique:"What's your favourite colour?"
Toine:"I think I wrote blue. And you?"
Frederique:"Black."
Frédérique
Huydts, actress in 'Meiden van De Wit'.
CC
Frédérique:"I'm very hot-tempered, have a short fuse. I'm also
very enthusiastic and I'm up for anything."
Chris:"Frédérique is very calm, friendly, easy-going."
Frédérique:"I could be a great Mole."
Richard asks Milouska's favourite animal. She replies it's a cat.
Richard
Groenendijk, cabaret artist.
CC
Richard:"I think I could be a good Mole, because I can deceive
people with a big smile."
Toine:"Are you superstitious?"
Milouska:"Yeah, very! I believe in voodoo and
everything!"
Milouska
Meulens, host of Jeugdjournaal (Journal for Youth)
CC
Milouska:"I'm cheerful and social, but I also have mood swings."
Milouska asks about Chris' favourite drink. He
says it's beer. She replies whisky with beer is the best.
Geert asks Mary-Lou's favourite music. She replies Chopin.
Geert
Hoes, actor in 'Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden' (Good Times, Bad Times)
CC
Geert:"I'm social, emotional and sly."
Roderick
Veelo, host of the financial news. In a short clip we hear him say something
about the stocks of Endemol, going up by 9 euro. Could that be a hint?
CC
Roderick:"The characteristics of The Mole should be: sneaky,
introvert and devious. My characteristics? Now and then introvert, sometimes
sneaky... and devious."
Roderick and Liz, who volunteered to separate
themselves from the group, wonder where they're going.
Liz
Snoijink, actress.
CC
Liz:"I'm not allowed to tell you I'm The Mole, am I? ... I am?
... No I'm not going to tell you!"
The remaining contestants also wonder what the other two will
do.
CC
Chris:"You can't trust anyone at this point. Everyone's watching
everybody. With each suspicious move you doubt if it isn't purposely to throw
you off."
The eight contestants drive away by bus.
CC
Frédérique:"I think I'll get along very well with Milouska. I
get along well with Mary-Lou already, because I know her. It sounds so silly to
say I like everyone, but that's how it feels. I'm like a happy bird."
Peggy:"I think the group is great, it clicked immediately. I
find Mary-Lou a bit standoffish. Sometimes it takes a while to get along with
some people."
Mary-Lou:"I might be getting some troubles with...
Peggy."
Liz and Roderick arrive at a hotel. They're in the country of Tango and have to learn how to dance it. They'll go back to the group in episode three, where they have to participate in a tango contest. If they do well, they both earn an exemption to episode 4.
CC
Milouska:"Someone asked me to be in a coalition: Richard.
I asked him how you can do that. So he explained you have to promise each other
that you really aren't the Mole!"
They discuss it in the bus. Milouska:"So you just
have to trust each other on that? Just like that?" Richard:"Well
,that's what the whole game is all about!"
CC
Toine:"It's funny, because most of us didn't meet before and it's
great how it just clicked. On the other hand it will be tough to say goodbye,
but it has to happen, or I won't be able to get into the finale."
They arrive at a hotel, where the host awaits them. He asks them
five questions. The more questions they answer correctly, the better the place
will be where they will sleep tonight. Five correct questions means they get to
sleep in a five star hotel. If they only get one question correct, they will all
sleep in one sleeping room in a youth hostel.
Question 1 is for Milouska. The host asks:"Which one of the men
knows your favourite combination of drinks?"
CC
Chris:"I started thinking oh she told me and I don't know
anymore! I only knew whisky!"
Milouska chooses Geert.
CC
Geert:"I was anxiously waiting, because I knew we'd get that
extra star!"
Geert says it is beer and vodka with a straw. Milouska
is disappointed:"It's beer and whisky!"
CC
Geert:"I think I got that wrong because I like vodka a lot
myself and beer with whisky is a disgusting combination.... I'm not The Mole. I
can be short about that."
Next question is for Chris: Which of the ladies knows
since when he's been smoking. He opts for Peggy, who answers from his
15th. It's correct and besides a hotel star, they win €1,000.
Next is for Mary-Lou: Which guy knows which animal she likes to compare
herself with? She thinks Richard will know. He answers it's a cat, but Mary-Lou
screams "No!" and then he immediately corrects himself:"A
squirrel!"
CC
Richard:"I said cat and then I thought, no it's a squirrel and I
immediately said it, but Karel (=the host) said it was too late and I was
wrong."
Geert:"I find that an obvious clue of a Mole act."
Question for Chris again: Which of the ladies knows how
many times he has lied today? He goes for Mary-Lou and she correctly
answers twice. They win another star and €1,000.
CC
Toine:"Why did he lie and when? It seems totally unnecessary to
me to lie twice on the first day. So I have a nice job of figuring this
out."
Question for Frédérique: Which man knows what she will
be doing in ten years? She hesitates a while and then chooses Toine. Toine:"She
wants to be living in a foreign country, make nice treats for her guests and
whether she will still be an actress or not is not sure."
They win a three star hotel and €3,000!
After the challenge, Geert confronts Chris in the group by asking
what he lied about.
Chris:"I sometimes feel the urge to lie a little."
Peggy:"Who did you lie to? To me? I talked a lot with
you."
Geert:"Will this be the third time you'll be lying
today?"
Chris:"That might very well be possible!"
Day 2
The contestants wonder what Liz en Roderick are
doing. Toine thinks they're doing something romantic, Peggy thinks
they had to sleep in a tent and have a tough life out there, while Milouska's
sure that they slept in a five star hotel.
Richard:"Nonono, if they can get two exemptions or what's it
called... they'll have to do something for it!"
Liz
and Roderick are enjoying a luxurious breakfast somewhere else.
The other contestants travel by plane from Buenos Aires to Bariloche.
Back in Buenos Aires, Liz and Roderick are finding out everything about the tango and how to do it. They watch pictures and try to re-enact the poses.
...
Karel (the host):"One might wonder whether those two in Buenos Aires
made the right choice. It's fun to be there, but they won't have a clue who to
suspect. And the other eight did get a chance to get to know each other, but
they didn't really succeed in that. Provided that they could succeed in it,
because 'Who is the Mole?' ? The Mole might be having Tango lessons!"
...
Bariloche
The contestants travel by bus to Nirihuau and then Mary-Lou
screams she sees a bridge and Karel. They think they'll have to bungee.
The bridge is a railway bridge over a gorge.
Karel:"Tonight a flight leaves from Bariloche to Buenos Aires and from
there straight back to Holland and one of you will be in that plane. If you
don't want to be that person, you'll have to win an exemption, which you can do
today. To start, you'll have to cross this railway bridge. Crawling is allowed
to, but you cannot run, because that's too dangerous. The faster you depart, the
more advantages you will have later on, but you have to cross the bridge one by
one."
Richard wants to go first, because he's scared of heights. Milouska
and Mary-Lou are scared as well. Mary-Lou even starts crying. Richard
and Peggy tell her she doesn't have to do it if she doesn't want to. Milouska
suggests Mary-Lou can be the first one to go, before Richard goes,
but she doesn't want that. So Richard leaves and crosses the bridge.
There's a lot of wind and they don't have any security or protection.
CC
Richard:"The idea of a big hole underneath you... and there was
a lot of wind... not that I'm easy to blow away, but just the idea was
scary."
He makes it across safely and Geert goes next.
CC
Geert:"I thought it would've been more easy. I thought it'd be
peanuts... just walk across and you're done. But then I watched down and there
were these big gaps between the beams on the bridge. It felt like a rush when I
had reached the end!"
Peggy is next. Meanwhile, the remaining contestants are
still trying to convince Mary-Lou.
CC
Mary-Lou:"I can sit here and be ashamed of my behaviour, but I
really am very scared."
Frédérique:"I just don't think it's a good idea
to leave you here alone and let you decide on your own whether or not you're
crossing the bridge."
Milouska:"Because then you won't go anymore."
Frédérique:"Can't you make an attempt now? I don't want to
push you, but..."
She doesn't want to do it. Peggy has made it across:"How
silly, it's scarier than you think."
Toine goes next, followed by Frédérique, who also crosses
it:"And this with my eyes!"
Chris is next and then Mary-Lou tries after all. She's scared.
The others encourage her and she crawls over the bridge on hands and knees. She
makes it across safely and only Milouska is left. She steadily walks over
the bridge, but stumbles a little halfway.
CC
Milouska:"All the way I was singing a song to give myself power
and I wasn't looking in front of me."
She only watches where she puts her feet.
CC
Milouska:"And then I heard the other contestants' voices very
nearby and I looked up and saw I was already at the other end!"
Watch a clip of this challenge here:
Buenos Aires
CC
Roderick:"Of course we are going to win that exemption! If
you're sitting here, saying you're not going to win it, it's not even worth
trying. We'll amaze all the people from Argentina in the room. Two Dutch
people, dancing the tango here, several kilometers away from home."
They meet their dance teacher who will learn them the tango.
CC
Liz:"The weird thing is that I'm not thinking about the group
anymore. It's as if Roderick and me are alone here, trying to learn the tango.
Meanwhile there's a lot going on in the group which we are missing of course.
And that could be working against."
Nirihuau
The contestants will play memory now and one of them can win an
exemption. The cards of the memory deck are jokers, money to win or to lose and
pictures of the contestants. If there is a match of two the same pictures, it
means that person is out of the game. The last one standing wins the exemption.
The person that went over the bridge last, can start, which is Milouska.
CC
Milouska:"Karel had said that we all had the same chance of
winning the exemption, but if I had to go first, because I crossed the bridge
last, I have less chance because I could turn fewer cards."
She turns over one card which has minus €1,000! If her next
card also has that, they lose that amount of money. She turns over the card
right below the one she just turned. This one also has minus €1,000 on it!
They lose €1,000 in the first turn! They have €2,000 left.
Since she has a match, she can try again. She turns over a card 'good
questionnaire answer' (from now called a joker) and a picture of Mary-Lou.
CC
Chris:"You're going to watch how people are playing. Whether
they're trying to kick people out immediately or deliberately try to mess things
up..."
Mary-Lou is next and she flips over a joker! She searches
the joker Milouska discovered and flips it over. Its a match and every
player receives one joker!
Jokers... this show always ends with a questionnaire of 20 questions about The
Mole. The person with the most incorrect answers gets eliminated. A joker can
save you, because a joker turns an incorrect answer into a correct answer!
Karel:"You can sell them, you can give them away, you can buy them if
anyone is crazy enough to sell them to you. Each time two jokers are turned,
everyone who's still in this assignment, receives a joker!"
Mary-Lou can try again.
CC
Mary-Lou:"I played the memory game very well, if I can say so
myself! I earned the group a lot of jokers!"
She turns over another two jokers, earning everyone their second
joker.
CC
Chris:"I was of no use in this game. I'm not good at thinking
systematically. That's very difficult to me. I can remember the first three
cards, but then with the fourth it all gets messed up and I know nothing
anymore."
He turns over Peggy's picture and a joker.
Frédérique is next. She turns over 2 jokers, giving everyone a third.
Peggy turns over plus €2,000. But where was the other one?
CC
Peggy:"I had turned over the plus €2,000 and the other one had
already been turned over before, so I should have known, but I forgot where it
was."
Her second card is Frédérique's picture.
CC
Frédérique:"And then someone turns over a card and your
picture appears! That's not fun!"
Geert is next and he immediately turns over Frédérique's
picture that Peggy just turned. He knows where the other one is as well
and so Frédérique is out of the game first.
CC
Frédérique:"I earned some jokers for everyone. And then I get
kicked out first. I'm not happy with that..."
Toine goes next. He turns over two pictures of Mary-Lou,
who is now out of the game. Next he also turns two pictures of Richard
and in his third try he wins the group €2,000! The kitty now stands at
€4,000.
Peggy wins the remaining players another joker. And in her second try she
flips over her own picture.
CC
Peggy:"I was so silly as to turn over my own picture! And
before, my picture had already been turned over and it was at a certain spot,
below on the left. A spot which is easy to remember."
Geert turns both of her pictures over and she's out of
the game. Next Toine plays Chris out of the game.
CC
Toine:"I looked around and noticed only three players were left.
That's when it started to get itchy. I thought hmm I'm close now... the
difference between winning or losing is big now!"
Frédérique:"Everyone was so eager when they knew they could
win an exemption. Then it's all for themselves all of a sudden!"
Geert turns over two minus €1,000 cards! The kitty
drops to €3,000.
CC
Milouska:"He turned over minus €1,000. I did as well, but I
really couldn't know, because I was first and didn't know which card was which,
but with Geert(s turn, several card had been flipped over already. That's why
I'm suspecting Geert the most."
In his next turn, Geert plays Milouska out of the
game. He only needs to kick of Toine now and then he'll win the
exemption!
First he wins himself and Toine another joker. Next he turns plus
€2,000.... and Toine's picture.
CC
Toine:"I was glad he made that mistake, so I could profit from
it. I knew there was €2,000 we could win for the kitty, but I decided not to
turn it, because I was scared I'd win that money and next make a mistake and let
Geert win! So I went for myself."
Toine turns over both of Geert's pictures, kicking
him out and winning the exemption.
CC
Peggy:"Right before he played, the plus €2,000 was turned
over. He already knew where Geert's pictures were, so he'd better first won the
money and then play Geert out of the game. So he left the €2,000, which he
could've won for the kitty. Which he didn't."
Geert:"I've got six jokers. I won one of those, also for
Toine, which actually is a pity, because now he has won double. He doesn't have
to use the jokers, because he already has an exemption."
Frédérique:"Toine has such a happy face now."
Buenos Aires
The two tango students enjoy a drink in the sun.
Roderick:"We know the basic steps now. We're still doing it
without much emotion. If we could just dance the tango well for three minutes,
that would be great. That would mean we'd immediately go to the next round. We
can win a lot. Are you curious about where the others are as well?"
Liz:"It's weird, but I've got the feeling they are in more
primitive circumstances."
Nirihuau
They indeed are in primitive circumstances and are very nervous, because
it's time for the first questionnaire. Those who have jokers, can use them if
they want. But they can also spare them for later on.
CC
Richard:"I feel like using them all tonight."
Mary-Lou:"I really want to continue. It would be terrible if
I'd be sitting in the plane tonight, so there's a big chance I'm using all three
of my jokers."
Geert:"I've got six jokers and I'm using them two by two. For
every questionnaire, two jokers."
Suspicions
Milouska:"At first I thought about Mary-Lou, but her
tears before crossing the bridge makes me not suspect her anymore. She'd be a
very good actress to fake that. I was still suspecting Toine. That suspicion
even got a bit bigger because he earned that exemption. But he a
lso
played well and earned it because Geert made some mistakes. That's why I'm
suspecting Geert the most now." She uses 2 of her 5 jokers.
Geert:"It's very difficult. My first intuition goes to Toine,
but I also suspect Milouska, because I can't read her. I'm trying to, but I
can't and that sucks. So that's the dilemma I'm dealing with." He uses
2 of his 6 jokers.
Peggy:"I'm doubting between two people again. I had named Chris
before and I also doubted about Toine. I'm suspecting Toine more... I thought
I'd seen The Mole in action today. Not on the bridge, but in the memory game. It
was his turn and he kicked Geert out first. And he's generally a bit too
relaxed. He doesn't worry about anything is too certain of himself. That's
suspicious too, by the way, Toine never writes anything down! He's only got one
page... one!" She uses 3 of her 5 jokers.
Richard:"I'm suspecting Chris a lot at the moment. And Geert as
well, although I saw he was really disappointed when he didn't win. But he's an
actor, so he could be playing that. I really do not know who The Mole is, but I
think I'm voting for... Geert... Chris... or I think... Toine... No, Geert and
Chris." He uses all his 3 jokers.
Chris:"I've seen The Mole in action today. I think The Mole
crossed the bridge right before I did. I'm talking about Frédérique. High
suspicions! She's a calm person and flies under the radar. I think that's a
clever strategy for The Mole." He uses all of his 5 jokers.
Frédérique:"Geert would be a good Mole. He's the Benjamin of
the group. Everyone will he think he won't take that responsibility on his
shoulders because he's too young. And I found Geert was very distant at first.
And Chris is a mystery as well. I suspect him a little. I suspect those two and
I suspect Liz, who's not in the group. It would be a big joke if The Mole isn't
in our group while a bunch of losers is trying to look suspicious here and The
Mole is having a massage in a five star hotel! It's possible! I don't know if
it's good to focus on one person just yet." She uses her 3 jokers.
Mary-Lou:"Liz and Roderick are still suspicious, just because
they're gone and received two exemptions. However, I still think The Mole is
among us, because that makes the game fun. I think I've seen The Mole at work. I
think it's Geert. I could be totally wrong. I also suspected Milouska, but she's
just here to win. Richard too, I'm keeping an eye on him as well. But Geert did
weird things. After my turn at the memory board, I knew where the plus €2,000
was and Geert should've known too, but he didn't go for the money. So I thought
something was wrong. He also turned over minus €1,000! So Geert is The Mole...
I hope." She uses all of her 3 jokers.
Suspicious in this episode
Liz and Roderick
volunteer to leave the group
Geert and Richard answer their question wrong.
Mary-Lou and Milouska chose a person who didn't know the answer to
their question.
Milouska immediately turns over two minus €1,000 cards.
Peggy knew where the plus €2,000 card was, but didn't turn it over.
Geert loses €1,000.
Toine could have won another €2,000, but doesn't and opts to play Geert
out of the game.
Elimination

Liz and Roderick are in Buenos Aires and don't have to do a
questionnaire until episode 3. Toine has won an exemption. So they're
still in the game. But who will be eliminated? Find out by clicking the pictures
or watch the elimination clip:
The eliminated person still has jokers left, which he can now choose to give to someone else. He opts to hand them to Mary-Lou.
