Adelaide - Australia
Host:"The atmosphere in the group was at its best. And
because of that, a confronting challenge with a big audience turned out to be
harder. Others had an unexpected success in a surprising area. Eventually they
were all walking in cicrles around each other."
Day 6 - Adelaide
They check in at a new hotel.
CC
Marc-Marie:"I guess people think I'm so open and play the game
honestly that they don't suspect me."
Victoria:"I think some suspect me. But that's not weird
because even I would suspect me."
Lottie:"I caught myself on finding it fun when people suspect
me! When I notice someone is hearing me out with hidden motives, I get happy
inside."
Sander:"I think some people do find me suspicious. Especially
Isabelle doesn't trust me, because I did something stupid, but that wasn't on
purpose."
Day 7 - Adelaide
Jim finds mail at the door and reads it to the others.
"Today you will be arty. Group one: Yvon, Marc-Marie, Sander and
Isabelle will leave at 10:15 am. Group 2: Victoria, Gijs, Jim and Lottie leave
at 11 am."

Group 1 (Yvon, Marc-Marie, Sander and Isabelle) goes to the
Art School in Adelaide. They have to divide into two groups, the men and the
women. Each group has to make a piece of art and get 100 Australian dollars to
buy stuff. They get 5 hours to make their piece of art and then have to decide
which piece they will use to put in the Art School, where an art critic will
take a look at the art pieces. If the critic doesn't find which art piece they
made, they win $2,500.
CC
Isabelle:"I was very glad I was with Yvon, because her hobby is
handicraft and I'm good at carrying out something so I thought if she'd just
tell me what to do, it would work ou fine!"
Yvon suggests to make something with natural products, because several pieces of art in the school are made of that, so their piece won't stand out. Marc-Marie also says that not everything is art. There's got to be an idea behind it.
Goodwood Elementary School
The other 4 contestants go to a school where they hear children sing the
most popular song of australia: Waltzing Mathilda. They now get an hour to learn
it and they have to sing it later on. If they succeed, they win €2,500. And
the best singer out of them gets an extra bonus...
CC
Jim:"I got a letter yesterday... (reads) 'If you manage
to sing the song with a clear error, you will earn 3 correct answers in the next
questionnaire.' I thought how can they do this? How can they ask me to help the
Mole to sabotage a challenge in music. It would make me extremely
suspicious!"
Marc-Marie and Sander meanwhile walk to a store. Marc-Marie
wants to buy barbie dolls and search in books for pictures to glue another head
on the dolls.
CC
Marc-Mary:"As usual we went to do something without thinking
about it first. So we immediately went to a shop with painting equipment."
Sander:"Marc-Marie is one of my suspects and I kept an eye on
him, but instead of finding out more about him... he started to suspect
me!"
They're in the shop and Sander suggest to go somewhere else, because the paint store is close to the Art School. Sander:"We can still get it afterwards." Marc-Marie:"Then we shouldn't have come here first, Sander."
The kids are teaching the contestants the song. It's difficult
because there are strange words in it.
CC
Lottie:"Everyone had difficulties with the text. Which was
understandable, because there were confusing words in it such as billabong and
billyboil."
Gijs definitely hasn't got the hang of it yet.
Yvon and Isabelle hitch a ride to a hardware
store. They're planning to make a laundry line.
The guys have left the paint shop empty-handed to return later on and go by
foot, still discussing why they left the paint shop.
CC
Marc-Marie:"Firstly, I don't think Sander is The Mole. If he'd
be The Mole, he'd pee his pants of excitement every time he'd have to do
something. I do think however, that he's a kind of helping Mole kind of guy, who
think he has to help the Mole sometimes or something."
Lottie wants to know what a billabong is. The kids tell
her it's a kind of river.
Victoria asks the two kids who are teaching her the song, what
thoroughbred is. The kids say it's a type of horse. Meanwhile, Gijs is
trying to sing his part (they each have to sing one part of the song) but the
two girls who are teaching him are laughing.
CC
Gijs:"I never thought it would be so difficult to learn that
song, especially those 4 sentences."
Jim:"Honestly, I knew the song after two minutes already. But
then I started walking around the classroom and other classrooms and meanwhile
the other three were also singing together with 8 kids and I acted like they
were singing so loud with the 12 of them that I couldn't concentrate to remember
the text. And I blew that out of proprtion, as if it was a big border for me to
learn the text and thus sabotaging the challenge."
Gijs:"The letters M-O-L-E appeared on his forehead in large
letters! I thought he's the Mole! Undoubtedly!"
Marc-Marie and Sander go to another shop by taxi.
CC
Marc-Marie:"I had a kind of idea... I thought Australia and
aboriginals, because that's a hot item here and quite difficult. I thought if we
make something like that then he won't think we made it."
He wants to use a golden lady's shoe and put the barbie dolls in
it. The golden shoe would be symbol for the decadence and the barbie dolls with
faces of aboriginals would represent the original inhabitants. They find a
fluffy pink chair they want to put it on and Marc-Marie wants blood
dripping from it underneath the shoe. Sander finds a kind of mirror for
$2.00 which they also buy.
They get back in the taxi and Marc-Marie asks the elderly driver to go
back to the same paint shop they had been before.
CC
Marc-Marie:"I wanted to go back to that art material
store..."
Sander then asks the driver:"And is there a
bookstore in between?"
CC
Marc-Marie:"And Sander asked for a bookshop to find pictures of
aboriginals in some book. The old driver seemed to be a bit crazy, because he
said he knew a bookstore and then drove all the way to the other side of the
city and he went there and when we arrived we saw a snackbar or something and he
went 'Oh... this used to be a bookstore.' That was very fishy and strange."
The taxi driver gets out the car to ask the road. Marc-Marie
tells Sander:"This was a very strange choice of you... you've got
to admit.. We were in front of the shop with art materials, where we had been
before already! You already could get me away from there and now you said to
first go to a book store!"
Sander:"No, listen, if we go back to that art materials shop
and then have to wait for a taxi and then go back here again,..."
Marc-Marie (interrupting):"The taxi will wait, he did that
bbefore too."
Sander:"No, but we'd better go there at the end when we know
what we need!"
Marc-Marie:"I just want to say these are all weird decisions.
If you're The Mole, you have to get a bit more subtle, because this is a bit too
obvious."
Marc-Marie tells the driver to go to the art materials store. But
they geed light dhave to wait a while. Then they finally arrive and Marc-Marie
wants to open the door, but the shop is closed! Marc-Marie:"Now
it's closed!" He stares at Sander. Marc-Marie:"No,
I really think you're strange!!"
They look at the closing time. It's been only closed for 2 minutes, they
just missed it. Marc-Marie walks away frustratedly:"And we've
already been here!"
Sander:"Yeah, but it didn't make sense then, because we
didn't know what we needed! It's logical that when it's close to the Art School
that you save it for last?" Marc-Marie:"It doesn't take
an Einstein to see that you've tried to sabotage this three times!"
Unley Oval Football Stadion
The contestants are led into a crowded football stadion, blindfolded and
with headphones on, so they don't know where they are. A commentator presents
them to the crowd. The children are in the crowd too, waiting anxiously for the
contestants to sing Waltzing Mathilda. When the contestants have sung, the
audience will decide who did it the best.
CC
Jim:"I didn't hear or see anything. I could smell mud and grass.
Then the headphones went off and it became clear."
The headphones are taken off and they can hear there's a lot of
people. Next, the blindfolds are taken off and the music starts playing
immediately!
CC
Jim:"Then the blindfolds came off and I heard 'Come on Jim!'
"
The music is playing and Jim is given a microphone. But
he's looking aroudn in awe. Gijs tells him to sing.
CC
Jim:"I had the first part and didn't know the lines at all
anymore! The song I had just learned was really completely gone! It was a
disaster!"
Gijs:"Jim had the first part and it immediately went wrong
and we didn't have a chance to win money anymore!"
Gijs is next. He doesn't know all the lines anymore
either and sings some of the words out loud, but it's not good at all!
CC
Gijs:"I'm a DJ! I play these songs, I don't sing them!"
Victoria sings. She seems to know the lines, but isn't a
great singer.
CC
Victoria:"It was embarrassing for all four people. I think
that's why chances are big that The Mole was in our group!"
Lottie has to sing the final part and almost does it
perfectly!!
CC
Gijs:"It was suspicious that Lottie knew all the text by
heart!"
Lottie:"It was just 4 lines!"
Gijs:"So she could be The Mole! Being the last person, she
could sabotage it perfectly. Suppose we knew our text very well, she could mess
it up in the end."
The audience know has to applaude for each contestant to see who
did best. Apparently they think Lottie did best!
CC
Jim:"They promised us that the best singer would get a
surprise."
The host tells Lottie she won an exemption and she's very
happy!
CC
Jim:"And then I thought... so if I did do well... and I would
have been the best singer, I could have won an exemption! And that's a lot
better than three correct answers on the questionnaire!"
The others are still working on their art pieces. The girls are
building the laundry line, while the boys are making their weird looking piece. Sander
suggests to burn the sides of a poem they have. Marc-Marie:"OK,
but be carefull with that burning, so we don't lose everything." (he
then whispers tothe camera) "I don't trust him one bit today. He's
constantly stalling for time!"
The guys finish their work and Marc-Marie puts it in the art school
between the other pieces to see if it fits with the rest. But then they oth
burst out laughing.
Yvon and Isabelle have finished their washing line. Yvon
pricks herself to smear blood on one of the paper shirts. They wanted to use
natural things. They all think the washing line is better and choose that piece.
An art critic now has to find out which piece of art they made. He comments on
several pieces. When he sees the washing line the girls made he says:"I
quite like this. It seems to be a family of males. That's the great Australian
singlet."
When the host asks him what he think the contestants made, he points at the
washing line... but he means a small thing that's standing next to the washing
line! So he's wrong!
The other four now too get a chance to win money. If they do succeed in finding
out which art work the others made they will win another € 2.500. They look
around and when standing in front of the washing line, Victoria says:"I
don't think this is it!" Lottie:"Oh I do think this
could be it!" Gijs:"They won't have taken sods of grass
out of the ground, do you think?" (there's dry grass under the washing
line)
CC
Gijs:"It looked as though it had been standing there for ages!
It was so beautifully made I thought they'd never be able to create that!"
Jim is standing next to the piece the art critic chose
and sees that there's dust on it, so it must have been standing there a while.
They also see a crate filled with socks. Lottie suggests to go for that
or the bottles in the plastic bag. They want to go for the socks.
The other four arrive and have to point out what they made. They chose the wrong
piece of course and don't win the money.
CC
Lottie:"I was even standing in front of it with Victoria. My
feeling said it suited Yvon. But I also thought it wouldn't be it, because the
grass was old."
They won €2.500 by fooling the art critic and now have €
16.250. Before they leave, the host tells them they can think about dividing
themselves up for the next challenge into three groups: three left-oriented
people, three right-oriented people and two control freaks. Gijs tells
her they're with 8 control freaks.
That evening they discuss which groups to divide in. Everyone thinks of
themselves as being a control freak.
Day 8 - Adelaide

Lottie and Yvon are the control freaks and are taken to a room,
blindfolded. They're in the control room and are told they're the spiders in the
web today. They don't know it, but they're in the middle of a map of Adelaide
they get.

Marc-Marie, Gijs and Victoria are the left-oriented group.
They're in the south-west on the map and have to go via squares in the city to
find clues to see where they have to go to, but they can only turn left, never
right. The squares they have to go through are Whitmore Square and Light Square.

Jim, Isabelle and Sander are the right-oriented group and
are situated in the north-east side on the map. They have to go through
Hindmarsh Square and Hurtle Square and can only turn right. In the squares
they'll find clues.
Both groups have to be guided by the 2 control freaks Lottie
and Yvon, who can't phone them, but have to wait until they are phoned by
either of the groups. Nobody knows where in Adelaide the control room is
situated. They get 90 minutes time and can win € 4.000. If they lose, they
have to pay € 4.000. Time starts!
Yvon points at the map:"So these two squares are this one and
that one..."
CC
Lottie:"I repeated it for myself, I said 'So the left group
needs to take these two squares and the right group has to go through those two
squares.' "
Yvon:"Are you sure?" Lottie
starts laughing.
CC
Lottie:"And then I started doubting, but I thought 'That's why I
just heard, isn't it?!' and I started doubting about myself!"
They're called by Jim who tells them they're at east
bank, looking north. Yvon:"Start looking for Whitmore Square,
because I have another line, which also needs to be directed. We only have one
phone."
Gijs calls them too and Yvon tells them they have to go to
Hurtle Square and Hindmarsh Square.
Jim calls the control freaks to ask if they can find the Art School they
were at yesterday, on the map. They search it and find it. Jim:"Is
that Light Square?" Yvon:"No, not at all! It's three
blocks away from there!"
CC
Sander:"We knew nothing! We didn't know how much time we had,
where the checkpoints were. They had to inform us first and Jim did a lot of
things wrong. He didn't tell us certain bits of information. He didn't tell us
how much time we had, so I phoned the girls."
Sander calls the girls and asks how much time they have. Lottie:"An
hour and a half." Sander:"No one told us that!"
Yvon:"I explained everything to Jim!"
CC
Sander:"Time was very important. So that's why I'm suspecting
Jim now."
They start to hurry up a bit now and the guys cross the red
light. Isabelle:"You guys, this isn't relaxed!" The cars
start driving and she's still at the other end of the road.
CC
Gijs:"Now I know the person who's sabotaging! Lottie!"
Gijs's group calls Lottie, who tells them to tun
right. But they're the left group and not allowed to turn right! They discuss it
when they walk on. Gijs:"It doesn't matter to Lottie anymore
anyway." Marc-Marie:"No, because she's got an exemption.
But then she still should try to do her best!"
After 15 minutes they've arrived at the first Square. The map of the girls
is filmed, on which they have drawn the path the group has followed.... a long
path.
The right-oriented group is now arriving at Light Square, but it's quite near to
the Art School. Jim calls Lottie to tell her:"Yvon told us
that Light Square was far away from the Art School."
CC
Yvon:"I should have looked at the Square instead of looking for
the Art School. That's stupid, but it's not a Mole act, I just can't read a
map!"
Jim:"The Art School is IN Light Square! Can you
figure out why she said that so very wrong?"
Lottie asks Yvon. Yvon:"I didn't say that at all! I
said Art Museum!"
They have arrived at the Art Museum.
The other group is at Hurtle Squae and starts looking for a clue. Gijs
finds a card with a Mole print on it and the number 240. They call Lottie
to tell her. Lottie:"OK, I've got another line now too... you
guys have to go to Hindmarsh Square."
Sander is on the phone and asks if the girls know what the other
group has found as a clue. Yvon tells them they've found 240. Sander:"In
what way?"
Yvon asks Lottie. Lottie:"Oh... ehmmm... I
dunno... Marc-Marie said... I don't know... (laughs) on a ward from The
Mole or someting!"
The girls start laughing and Sander hears nothing but giggling and Yvon:"She's
getting very red and says 'On a card from The Mole!' "
Isabelle finds the card near a fountain: 31. They are now told to run
like crazy to Whitmore Square.
Meanwhile, the other group has reached the next square and Victoria finds
a card with 48. Marc-Marie calls and asks what they have to do now. Yvon:"When
you reach a big steet, go left. I have to go now!" She hangs up and Marc-Marie
sighs.
Yvon wants to answer the other line from the other group that's calling
at the same time, but presses wrong and don't get an answer anymore. Lottie
tries and hears Jim. Yvon takes the phone back because she wants
to talk to Jim. She tells them to keep on walking straight ahead, but
they have to run!
They have 46 minutes left and have to wait for a red light. Sander:"Those
women are so vague on that phone!"
In the backgroud we can see the Hilton Hotel where the two girls are at! But
the don't know that yet. They reach the park and find another card: 482. They
don't know what to do with the numbers.
Marc-Marie, Gijs and Victoria have reached Victoria Square,
the square the two control freaks are at! They're still trying to figure out
what to do with the numbers.
CC
Lottie:"First I thought coordinates. But what do you do with
that."
Gijs and Marc-Marie figure out that it's got to be
a phone number! At the same time, so do Lottie and Yvon. Jim
calls them and they tell him. There are 16 possibilities with the phone numbers
and they try them all.
29 minutes left... Jim has reached a local. Not the correct phone number.
CC
Victoria:"Marc-Marie figured out we had to change the place of
one of the numbers and that would be the phone number."
Marc-Marie:"To be honest, that was my claim to fame. I found
out about that!"
Marc-Marie calls and suddenly a phone rings somewhere in
the control room. Yvon tries to look for it, but can't find it. She then
finds it in the closet, but presses a wrong button to answer the phone! Lottie
quickly takes over, but they don't get an answer anymore!
Marc-Marie tells the others the number he just called was busy. "Maybe
it wasn't the correct number!"
Lottie:"Oh no, now he's going to think this was the wrong
number of course!"
Yvon takes the phone to look at it, but Lottie grabs it out of
her hands. Lottie:"I will hold on to it."
CC
Lottie:"Next, Jim calls us... and I say 'Lottie speaking!'
"
The phone rings again and Lottie answers:"Lottie
speaking!" Jim:"Oh ok, that's you, bye!" Lottie:"No
wait!!!"
CC
Lottie:"And he hangs up!!!!"
The girls are shocked!
CC
Lottie:"Luckily he phoned again a few minutes later!"
Yvon answers this time:"Hello?!" Jim:"This
is Jim." Yvon:"Yeah and this is the correct
number!"
Lottie:"Oh that means you have to come here of course!!! Make
sure you meet up with the other team now, because when you do, you can go left,
right, everything!"
CC
Lottie:"The moment the two teams would meet, the left/right
limits would drop."
9 minutes left. Yvon:"You have to run
fast!!"
Jim and Sander start running, but Isabelle just
casually walks behind.
Jim phones again to ask what's the name of the hotel they're in, but the
girls don't know because they are inside the hotel and don't see a name.
CC
Lottie:"We knew we were in a hotel and at Victoria Square, which
we foudn out by looking out the window, because it had a certain shape."
They look on the map and find out it's the Hilton hotel! The
other group is stil trying to figure out the phone number. But, with only
minutes left, the groups find each other! When they meet, they have 30 seconds
left and have to run, but Gijs can't run because of his wounded knee...
so they others stop too, because there's no point in running when one can't
follow up.
The girls in the control room are watching through the hotel room and see the
others walking. Yvon:"Look at them, how slow! They look like a
bunch of old people!"
Jim calls Lottie and tells them they can't run
because of Gijs. But she tells them they're late anyway.Victoria
ran ahead already and arrives at the hotel room alone. Yvon:"We
saw you running and you were all so slow!" Victoria:"Yeah
but no one told us we had to get together first and Gijs can't run!"
The others now enter the hotel too. Marc-Marie informs Jim
that they were already standing in front of the hotel's entrance earlier on!
Yvon:"You hardly phoned us." Victoria:"No
that's bullshit, because every time we called you said 'I have another line,
bye!' and hung up!"
Lottie:"Yeah, that's right." Victoria:"I
mean, you never told the other group that you had another line!" Yvon:"Yes
we did." Lottie:"Yeah you were constantly calling at the
same time."
All other contestants arrive now too. All are frustrated. Marc-Marie
tells Yvon they were in front of the entrance of the hotel. Marc-Marie:"Why
did you make us keep on running?!" Yvon:"Because you had
to meet up with the other group!" Marc-Marie:"Bullshit,
you know Gijs can't run and you make us walk away from the hotel!"
They didn't make it and now they have to pay € 4.000. Some are shocked, because they weren't even told by the control freaks that they would lose money. They have € 12.250 left...
Suspicions
Isabelle:"I'm worrying about Gijs and Sander. They have a weird kind
of alliance with each other. Maybe both of them are deceiving us, that's
possible too. But I just find his eyes don't look so fanatic anymore. You can
act like you're mellow and try to proove to yourself that normally you want to
have control over everything but now you relax a bit, but I find it
strange."
Gijs:"Jim is The Mole. He was being all weird about music and
whether we could get the same tone height and he wasn't concerned about the
text. That's when I thought it's him! But the one who's sabotaging is Lottie.
Lottie sabotages everything. She was control freak and she always hung up the
phone when we called and said she had another line, but Yvon told me they didn't
even know what that meant and they didn't know how to answer the other line. So
I think she spilled the beans a bit there."
Jim:"There were several Mole acts today, whether it was
because of The Mole or not, but The Mole I'm concentrating on didn't run fast
because he's got a wounded knee. My second Mole, Yvon, told contradicting
information. My first Mole, Gijs, stalled for time."
Yvon:"Several people could be it. Marc-Marie, which is weird,
because I'm close to him, but I do think sometimes 'Hmm he's acting weird.' He's
very smart and understands the game and sometimes does things that make you
think..."
Marc-Marie:"I still suspect Victoria, but she likes to be
very suspicious. I wouldn't be good as Miss Marple, because one episode would
last 6 hours with me! I now think it's Lottie, but it drives me crazy ecause one
time I think 'Oh no, it's Victoria.' and next I think 'No, it isn't her...' so
now I voted Lottie."
Victoria:"I don't think The Mole could've done anything in
the art challenge. I think The Mole was in our group and that's purely based on
today's facts. So I think it's one of those three!"
Sander:"I've got two names of people I suspect: Jim and
Lottie. I've written two pages of Jim and two of Lottie in my journal. Jim is
the odd one out in the group and might be a good Mole ecause of that, since no
one expects it. Lottie also is suspicious... sometimes I find it weird what she
does, but on the other hand it's also natural what she does. They're both
difficult personalities to pinpoint."
Suspicious in this episode
Jim and Gijs
stuff up in singing Waltzing Mathilda.
Lottie went last in the group and therefor could easily mess the
challenge up if the other three had sung perfectly, but they didn't and now she
even was the best singer. Trying to divert attention?
Sander guides Marc-Marie away from the art materials store several
times until the store is closed.
Lottie thinks the washing line could be made by her fellow contestants,
but Victoria and Gijs don't agree.
Both groups always call at the same time and Lottie and Yvon tell
them they have another line and hang up without giving much information.
Lottie and Yvon sent the teams to the wrong squares.
Marc-Marie, Gijs and Victoria were at the entrance of the
Hilton Hotel where the two control freaks were at, but Yvon and Lottie
let them continue on walking and then they had to run back, but Gijs
can't run with his hurt knee.
Isabelle doesn't always run when Sander and Jim are
running, or doesn't cross the red light when her fellow team members do, thus
losing time.
Lottie at one point tells the left-group to turn right.
When the teams are trying to find the correct phone number and the phone in the
control room rings, Yvon presses a wrong button.
Jim calls the right number, but then hangs up immediately.
Elimination
How many people will be eliminated? Last time their percentage
was 39 % and it has to be the same or more, or else two people will be
eliminated... The host reveals the percentage first...
40 %

Lottie has an exemption, so she won't be going home. The host also tells
them The Mole got assisted again by someone and that person gets 3 correct
answers.
But who will go? Find out by clicking the pictures....
