Episode 6
Last episode - Day 11 - Quebec
Host:"Everyone has done the questionnaire and in a while, one of you has
to go home. But first I have to tell you something. Yesterday I made a proposal
to Astrid. If Astrid decides to leave the game tonight at free will, she could
take the money of yesterday's challenge along with her. 7,000 . That money
won't go into the group pot. Should Astrid decide to stay in the game, then we
continue the elimination."
Astrid raises her eyebrows. The others look at her.
Host:"Astrid? What are you going to do?"
Astrid looks at her fellow contestants and says:"I take the
money and am going home." Elise:"No, really?" Patricia
and Chandrika:"Jesus..."
Astrid:"I will miss you." The men are quiet.
CC
Rene:"I was speechless and thought 'Whats happening?!'. I was
convinced she was The Mole. I'm falling in a deep hole and have to start
gathering information about the others."
Everyone hugs and Astrid wishes the others good luck... and then
she leaves.
The others are still amazed and go sit back on their chairs. Chandrika:"I
will miss the good talks with her." She starts crying.
Rene:"And now what?"
Patricia:"No elimination, I suppose? Or did I missunderstand
that?"
The host takes Astrid to the car and they put her bags in the
back. Astrid gets in the back and they kiss goodbye. The car leaves.

Astrid:"And then Angela took me along with her and... it was
like you got immersed in a cold bath. You're all alone.. it was so much... so
overwhelming. It was as if you were going into a kind of rehab... Cold
turkey."
The host goes back to the contestants:"For the next
challenge, I need two people who are considerate."
Ferdi:"I'm not doing it anymore!" Patricia:"I'm
not considerate."
Rene and Elise are chosen and they have to follow the host and go
away immediately. Elise:"See you tomorrow!" Patricia:"Or
the day after tomorrow, for all we know!" Chandrika:"Yeah,
see you in a few days..."
The four are left behind alone.

Ferdi:"I was a bit worried about my own questionnaire, so for me
it was good that someone left on free will."
Chandrika:"It's always difficult to see someone leaving the
group, especially if you have a closer connection to that person. We just had a
great time together and it's difficult if she leaves. But I took it in account
that it could happen. And then we had the questionnaire and the confession cam
and Astrid leaving today. It was a bit too much all of a sudden."
...
The image flashes and we see a room number: 124. A gloved hand puts the instructions tape in the portable player. The host appears:"Hi Mole! We did it again. Everyone's quite upset. Again no 7,000 in the group pot. Here are your instructions: the boat is under water in the bay. Just act like you don't know anything and they will automatically not get any money for the pot." The gloved hands take a map and we see a hotel and a lake. "Make sure the group trusts you. It's important for the second challenge. There's a lot of money in the suitcase. If you make sure they won't get it, you succeed again! Good luck!"
Day 12 - Lac Sacacomie
The four drive from Quebec to Sacacomie to a lake (Lac
Sacacomie).

Ferdi:"We don't talk much about who's suspecting who. I thought
that would happen more often, that you would get a kind of consensus in the
group like 'It's that person.'. But I'm glad about it too, because it gives
everyone the feeling of uncertainty. That's important to me, because I'm
absolutely certain of who it is, so I have to try to create as much as
distraction as possible."
Rene and Elise also drive to Sacacomie, but in a
separate car.

Elise:"It's very difficult to find the right Mole. It's a very
difficult game, because one time you get along great with someone and the next
moment the trust is totally gone."
Rene:"I'm playing the game. I want to make the others think
about what actions I did or didn't do it. I don't want to be predictable for the
others."
The four are flown to a small island (ξle-de-terre) in a tiny
waterplane. Patricia has fear of heights again. The host awaits them on
the island. It's quite a large island, but very narrow. The host points at a
hill on the other side of the lake, where they see a hotel, where they will have
dinner and a place to sleep that night. But in order to have that, they have to
get there.Host:"Everything you need to get to the hotel dry and in one
piece, can be found here." They already get one part: the engine of a
boat. If they reach the hotel room within 3 hours, they win 5,000 . If it
doesn't work out, they still have camping gear, but there's not enough for all
of them. They already get a bit scared, because, again, it's cold and at night
it will be freezing cold. They also get a small crate which contains something
that will help them, however, opening it costs them 2,500 . They have 3 hours
to do the challenge. The host goes back to the plane and flies to the hotel.
The four split up to try and find items to get off the island.
Chandrika and Patricia go search one part of the island, while the
men:
Ferdi and Ron investigate the other side. They all say it's a
great challenge and start searching
Meanwhile, Rene and Elise drive to the hotel
Sacacomie, where the four have to go to. They get something to do. They can't
win money, but they have to do something important. A lady welcomes them to the
hotel "Welcome to the hotel Sacacomie. I have a lot of work for you to
do!"
First they get a walki-talki from the host and then they are taken away to
the basements by the lady. They arrive at the laundry place. They can do the
laundry for the hotel and can also wash their own clothes (and the clothes of
the other four).
The others are still looking for things to get off the island.

Ferdi:"We were told by Angela (=the host) that we had to get to
the other side of the lake. We first walked around the island looking for things
that we could use."
Chandrika:"At first I thought it was a great challenge and
that we would definitely succeed. But that feeling got less after a
while..."
They have found some planks and a big foamy floating surface (a floater).
They try to put some of the planks together. Patricia asks for precise
instructions on what to do, so she can help. Otherwise she doesn't know how she
can help. They guess they need a second floater to tie the planks on it. Ferdi
asks the women if they didn't find one. Both say they haven't and claim to have
searched every piece of land on the island. Ferdi doesn't seem to believe
them.

Ferdi:"One of them is my Mole, so she doesn't help us anyway.
And the other one is so non-technical. She already said on forehand that she
wouldn't be of much assistance."
Patricia:"That wouldn't have been a good idea. I never made a
raft before in my life. I also told them... i mean... I really don't have a
clue!"
She picks up a plank with a hole in it:"I suppose this is for the
engine?"
Ron has found life vests and wet suits, so they won't get cold.
28 minutes have past. The women go search the island again and the men tie the
planks to the floater with a rope they found.
CC
Ron:"We knew we needed another floater, so we could build a
stable raft, but we couldn't find one. It was a big island. We couldn't find the
second floater, but it's also possible someone saw it but said they didn't see
anything..."
Chandrika:"When I came back, they had already put the planks
on it, but I thought there had to be another way and told them. But there wasn't
enough space for it and no one caught on to it."
They tie the engine on the back of the very narrow floating object they
built. The engine is actually a clue. The boat that fits tothat engine is full
of rocks under water in the bay and can only be seen from one point at the
island. To get off the island, they have to get the boat out of the water. But
in order to do so, they must first find the boat.
Elise and Ron put on hotel personnel clothes and
put the contestants' clothes in the washing machines. Some clothes stink a lot.
They put the walk talki on one of the washing machines and go sit next to the
machine. They started leafing through some magazines.
CC
Rene:"I am going to observe Elise from now on. I think I have
enough clues that make me suspect her as being The Mole."
Elise:"He's the only one who's really interested in the money
and those are things that can work both to his advantage as well as to his
disadvantage."
The four have an hour and 55 minutes left. They put the narrow
floater in the water and Patricia brings two rowing sticks. When Ron
and Ferdi sit on the thing, it sinks and they fall over.
CC
Ferdi:"You sometimes have challenges where you think 'Oh now we
probably have to do this. Or you have to solve it that way.' But in this case I
didn't have a clue what it was about."
Ferdi suggests to open the small crate. Patricia gets it.
CC
Patricia:"The idea to open the crate came from Ferdi, but
everyone agreed, because we were all stuck and none of us knew how to solve
it."
Ferdi opens the crate (- 2,500 ) and
they find a key to a hotel room (with the number of the room on a key hanger)
and a walki talki. Ron takes the latter and starts talking:"Is
anyone there, hello? Hello?"
We then see the walki talki on the washing machine. The light flickers as we
hear Ron saying:"Hello, can anyone hear me?"
Elise and Rene are sitting underneath it, next to the noisy
washing machine and they don't hear Ron. They're reading magazines. Elise:"It's
been a long time since I last read French."
Ron:"Hello? Can anyone hear us?" He hands the walki
talki to Ferdi, who says hello once and they hear him. Elise picks
up the walki talki.
Ferdi:"Hi, we're on an island and have a raft which doesn't work.
And we wonder what's supposed to happen now. Why do you have a walki
talki?"
Elise:"I don't know, we're in a hotel doing your
laundry."
Ferdi:"Where are you now?"
Elise:"We're at a big hotel. A wooden hotel."
Ferdi asks if it's called Sacacomie, because that's what's written on
the key hanger. Elise acknowledges and Ferdi tells her to go to
room 303.
The two get the key at the reception desk and go to the room, which they
investigate. Rene find an envelope:"Elise, here's an
envelope!" Elise:"OK, open it!" Rene:"No
it says if we open it, it'll cost us 2,500 ."
Elise talks to Ferdi on the walki talki.and tells him about
the envelope and whether they should open it. Ferdi:"The money
doesn't matter, just open it, we're freezing our asses off here!"
They open the envelope (- 2,500 ) which
contains clues. They read them out for the others:
Elise:"The gas for the engine can be foudn behind a tree on the
waterside where you can see the final destination, which is the hotel we are at
now."
Ferdi:"OK, what's the next one?"
Elise:"Clue 2: the wetsuits and life vests are hidden under a
christmas tree."
Ferdi:"We already have those!"
Elise:"Clue 3: the boat lies in the bay."
Chandrika:"A boat??" They run to the bay. And Ron
runs to go get the gas for the engine.
Patricia is close to the boat, but doesn't find it. "I only
didn't look in the bushes. Maybe it's an inflatable boat." Ron
takes a look and goes into the water. He finds the boat! But now, Ron and
Patricia have lost the other two and yell their names...
They find them after a while and take the rocks out of the boat.
CC
Patricia:"When you're looking for a boat or something you... I
absolutely didn't look into the lake. Then you can say 'You should have done
that.' but that's easy to say afterwards. If you're looking for something on an
island, you're not going to look in the lake."
They lost 5,000 from the pot to get the clues. In order to
get it back, they have to succeed at the challenge to minimize the damage to the
pot.
Rene and Elise have meanwhile set the table in their hotel room and
start preparing dinner in the hotel kitchen.
The others have meanwhile gotten in the boat and put the engine at the back.
They're finally moving and heading towards the hotel. They have 28 and a half
minutes left.
CC
Chandrika:"All of a sudden it went just great. And then you
start thinking what have I been doing all those past 90 minutes? Shouldn't we
have just let the raft for what it was and start looking for the boat
immediately. And then you really feel... stupid!"
Rene and Elise see them arriving from the balcony of their
room. They yell and cheer them on. The four have to get all the way to the top
of the hotel at the room Rene and Elise are at. They have about 8
minutes left when they enter the main entrance of the hotel. They arrive with 4
and a half minutes to spare. and win 5,000 , neutralizing the money it cost
to open the crate and the envelope. They still have 28,400 in the pot and
can sleep in the hotel room instead of on the small island! And they have clean
clothes, because the other two washed it. The four go outside on the balcony and
look at the island they were just on.
At dinner, they make a toast on safely arriving at the hotel and
on the clothes that have been washed. Afterwards they have a little party. Elise
dances with Rene and the ladies also try to get Ron out of his
chair.
CC
Chandrika:"I'm starting to get less difficulties with Ferdi and
most definitely with Patricia. The smaller the group gets, the better we start
getting along."
Elise:"I like Rene a lot. He's a quiet rock. A man you can
build on. He has a great sense of humour."
Day 13
They have breakfast at their hotel room.
CC
Elise:"It's getting more intimate. We're with less people all
the time, but there's always the Mole amongst us, which feels weird."
Chandrika:"I think the game gets more and more serious.
People are playing for themselves. It's getting serious business now."
Ron:"At this moment it's a nice atmosphere, but I sense we're
also seriously heading towards the finale and the team work gets a bit less
because of that."
Bois de Sacacomie
They go to the Sacacomie forest. There aren't many leaves on the trees
left, which makes it look mysterious.
They have to make a list from 1 to 5. Number 1 is the person they trust most,
number 5 the person they trust least. Next they have to put the list in an urn.
Rene has Ron as number 1.
Ferdi has Ron first and then Elise.
Ron and Elise both have Rene at number 1. Elise puts
Ron on a second place.
Chandrika also puts Ron first.
Patricia has a different number 1: Ferdi.
The contestants are driven along a dirt road in the forest and
encoutner several snipers with paintball guns. Ron gets separated from
the group, because he is the person they trust most.

Ron:"I was a bit surprised that I was the person they trusted
most. I thought Rene would be that person. I didn't expect to be at the first
place."
The host hands Chandrika a suitcase, which they have to
bring to a place somewhere in the forest. But there are snipers in the forest
who will eliminate them and try to get the suitcase from them. Along the road
they will find paintball guns and a walki talki. They can use the paintball guns
to eliminate the snipers and with the walki talki they can get into contact with
Ron, who leads them to the place they have to go to. In 90 minutes, a
helicopter will land (with Ron in it). If at least one of them can get
into the helicopter safely with the suitcase, they win 10.000 . What they
don't know, is that in the suitcase is the money for the challenge AND an
exemption!
Ron can see the snipers from the helicopter he's in. The others get one
paintball gun to start with. Somewhere halfway they can find the other paintball
guns.
CC
Ferdi:"We decided that Rene, being a policeman and weapons
expert, could run at the head of the group to clear the path for the
others."
Rene:"This challenge was really something for me."
Patricia:"Rene was in charge, he ran ahead, so he decided the
tempo we ran ."
Ferdi:"I was about 100 meters behind Rene and behind me was
the rest."
Elise:"In the beginning we were very quiet, but I started to
get irritated, because we didn't have a fast pace and we only had an hour and a
half and there was just no action. I was behind Chandrika, who was carrying the
suitcase and I wanted to keep up with her, because I'd take over the suitcase if
something would go wrong."
They are indeed advancing very slowly, hiding behind almost
every tree they see, standing still a lot and carefully walking forward so they
won't be seen by the snipers. Rene has foudn the other four paintball
guns.
CC
Rene:"In the beginning of the challenge we also had to collect
four paintball guns and a walki talki to get into contact with Ron. I was the
only one who had a paintball gun and the rest was behind with the suitcase. I
warned them to look out, because the snipers would be everywhere and they would
probably have an ambush near the place the guns were."
Rene and Ferdi take the guns and hand them out.
They explain the girls how the safety pall works. Rene asks Ron
(through the walki talki) if he can hear him and Ron answers that the
helicopter is about to take off.
Ron has been made an offer. He can get the exemption in the suitcase if
the suitcase gets into the helicopter without any of the others. So he will have
to shoot one or more of his team mates.
CC
Ron:"Guiding the people from the helicopter was quite difficult
in the beginning. I was in the air and I could see some people running, but I
couldn't see who they were."
Rene suggests to go stand somewhere in an open place, so Ron
can see them.
CC
Ferdi:"At one point, we got into an ambush. At first, I had
gotten round it..."
He climbs up a small hill, thinking he's safe, but one of the
snipers has seen him and starts shooting!
CC
Ferdi:"I hit someone and immediately after that, I got hit too.
It went wrong and that was quite a pity. I didn't like it."
He's out of the game.
Chandrika:"I was carrying the suitcase, which was quite
difficult, because at one point I had both the gun and the suitcase, which made
it very difficult to shoot correctly. I thought, the person that's behind me,
should protect me and that was Elise. She should look behind me to see if
something's wrong."
They've started running a bit and then Ron tells them
they're being chased by some snipers. He also tells them to follow the
helicopter, because that's the place they have to run to. They run along and
suddenly we see the snipers shooting violently...
CC
Chandrika:"One of the snipers starting shooting... and then it
turned out I got hit."
She's out of the game and Patricia takes over the suitcase and hands
it to Elise.
the people that get hit are taken back to the start with a jeep, to wait for the
results. Ferdi is already there and now Chandrika arrives. Chandrika:"It
was difficult, running with both a gun and a suitcase!"
The snipers have started shooting again. Patricia lies
down flat on the ground behind a tree. She tries to shoot the sniper, but gets
hit herself several times. Only Rene and Elise are left. Rene:"Where's
the rest?!" Elise:"Dead."
CC
Rene:"We were almost out of time, so there was only one last
thing we could do: take the suitcase, start running to the finish and keep on
shooting at all directions along the way and see if you can reach the
rendez-vous."
He takes over the suitcase from Elise and starts running
and shooting. Elise follows him. Rene keeps on running and the
snipers are getting after him... He arrives at a junction, but sees the
helicopter to the right, so he takes the road leading to the right. He's at 20
meters from the landing point with the suitcase and still shooting and waiting
for the helicopter to land... and then he gets hit! He collapses to the groudn
on his knees and is disappointed.

Rene:"25 or 30 meters from the helicopter.. I got shot in the
leg. It sucked a lot. I went for it and ran like crazy. And it's very nasty to
be taken out just meters from the finish."
Elise is the only person left to get the suitcase to the
helicopter. Rene tells her to start running and just shoot around like a
mad man. And so she does. She gets to the point were Rene got taken out
and takes the suitcase. She jumps over some logs which are in the way and shoots
around as she's nearing the helicopter. Ron then jumps out the helicopter
and shoots Elise, who falls down. Ron gets the suitcase from her:"Are
you allright?" Elise:"Did you shoot me?" Ron:"Yes."
and he goes back to the helicopter, which immediately takes off, while Elise
yells at him:"But... Ron! Hey? What are you doing?"
The helicopter flies off and Elise walks away...
The helicopter lands and the shot contestants (except for Elise,
who isn't there yet) arrive too together with the host. Host:"You chose
Ron as the most trusted person. We made him an offer. If he got in the
helicopter alone with the suitcase, he would get an exemption. Ron, what did you
do?"
Ron shows the suitcase:"I've got the suitcase and I'm alone.
So I went for it. It either was 10.000 or the exemption and I went for the
exemption."
Everyone looks disappointed.
CC
Ron:"When I got into the helicopter I already knew: whatever
happens, I shoot the person who arrives at the helicopter and I get in the
helicopter alone. I want to go further into the game."
28.400 in the group pot.
Elise now arrives too, clearly fed up. People want to hug her, but she's
too angry to even be bothered to get a hug.
CC
Rene:"It's not a nice way to do it, he betrayed his
friends."
Ferdi:"Elise was quite angry. Patricia found it very
annoying, espescially because Ron got an exemption for the second time."
Patricia:"I was extra angry because of the way it went, by
shooting Elise. And it was also hard because he was our most trusted person of
course and then he betrays us."
Ron hugs Elise, but she's very annoyed.
CC
Rene:"Ron was high on my list as most trusted person. He was my
number one..."
Ron:"If you want to win this game, you have to get to the
end, so if you can go for an exemption, you should always go for it. I'm glad I
didn't have to shoot Rene in the end, because he would immediately shoot back.
But all ended well and I'm at ease now."
Suspicions
Rene:"I've gone through all challenges we did the past
few days and I concluded that Elise would be a very good Mole. At the second
elimination she wanted to hand in all the money, because she didn't want to lose
anyone from the group. That's a great Mole action." Flashback
episode 2: Host"If you give all the
money back to me, I will stop the elimination!" ... Elise:"We
can either choose to go for the money or the opportunity to have two more days
of fun with everyone." "Taking all the money from the
group pot. You can't imagine a better action."
Ferdi:"I saw Te Mole at work again today. But that was to be
expected of course, because I'm on a Mole hunt. It was funny how the suitcase
got given to my Mole today." Flashback
The host hands Chandrika a suitcase, which they have to bring to a place
somewhere in the forest. "It was fun, because it meant she
couldn't do anything else but carry the suitcase, so it was a nice tactical
move. I always vote for Chandrika."
Chandrika:"I have a feeling it's Patricia, because she's
tough, I don't know." Flashback Patricia asks for precise
instructions on what to do, so she can help. Otherwise she doesn't know how she
can help. "She let the others do the work, because she claimed
she wasn't any help in building a raft. Patricia still is my Mole."
Elise:"I have a weird feeling with Rene's action. Until today
I felt he absolutely could not be The Mole." Flashback
He's at 20 meters from the landing point with the suitcase and still shooting
and waiting for the helicopter to land... and then he gets hit! "And
then in the challenge today I think 'Hmmm maybe he is after all.' "
Patricia:"You're in a game and you have an idea and maybe
you're concentrating too much on that idea so I miss other things. Maybe Rene
turned off the walki talki or something." Flashback
Patricia at the raft challenge:"Rene? Elise? Hello??" Rene
and Eliseare reading magazines next to the washing machines. "Ferdi
and Ron aren't The Mole to me. They didn't build a great raft, which could be a
Mole action. But you never know, that's most difficult about this game that you
think maybe the could be The Mole."
Ron:"If I would have done the questionnaire today I would
have voted for Patricia. It's difficult and you just have to make a choice. To
me PAtricia is the prime suspect. Then Ferdi. And for the rest it still could be
anyone."
Suspicious in this episode
Patricia
doesn't find the boat.
Rene and Elise don't hear the walki talki at first, losing time.
Ferdi suggested to open the crate, losing them money.
Ferdi gets shot first, followed by Chandrika, who then had the
suitcase.
Rene gets shot just several meters from the landing place.
Ron shoots Elise, going for the exemption and wasting 10.000
Elimination
Ron
has an exemption. He won't be going home this time. But who will?
