Episode 8

Emily was gone, leaving Brooke as the only female contestant in the group. Could she be the next Alan?

Challenge 1
This challenge is worth $20,000. The entire group must select a coloured envelope.  Each envelope has possible dares they have to complete.  The dare they have to complete is determined by the flip of two-up coins.  The dares could be (1) either having your face painted or have your nude body painted; (2) have your hair dyed or have your hair shaved; (3) have an eyebrow piercing or have a tattoo or (4) all of the above dares.  After flipping the coins everyone is seperated and sent to do their dare.  When they reunite, if any of them don't go through with the dares, they win the challenge.
Hal comes back with red hair, Mal has an eyebrow piercing, Michael is wearing a g-string and has been painted green all over and Brooke has an eyebrow piercing, had her hair dyed black and red and had her face painted.

Challenge 2
Each person is blindfolded and locked in one of 32 hotel rooms.  Each room consists of a safe and a mobile phone.  Using various clues found within each of the rooms, the group must communicate to each other and solve a series of cryptic clues to escape their rooms.  All of them must escape within an hour, and when they do, must give Grant a name. The group work out that the clues all revolve around 'Alfred Hitchcock', however they don't get out in time. They loose $10,000.

How they had to get out:

• Michael needed to ride his exercise bike in order for Hal to see in his pitch black room.
• Hal's room had the word VCR printed on a piece of paper.
• Mal had to play the video in his VCR which revealed the movie 'Psycho'.
• Brooke had to turn the hot water in her shower to see a code printed on the glass shower door.  It could only be seen when the glass is fogged up from the steam.
• The code opens her safe, has a key (which isn't of use yet) and the title 'The Birds'.
• In a pile of books in Michael's room, the Bird book holds the code to open his safe.
• The code opens his safe, has a key and the title 'Rear Window'.
• Mal needs to look out his rear window to reveal a van with an advertisement printed on the back.  The phone number for the abseiling company is '1800-ROPE'
• 1800 opens Mal's safe which has a key.
• Hal needs to find 'The Rope' in his room.
• At the end of the rope is the code for Hal's safe which contains two keys.
• One key opens his door, the other opens Brooke's door, Brooke's key opens Mal's door and Mal's key opens Michael's door.  But each of the 32 rooms in the hotel has the name of a Hitchcock film.  They must find the rooms with the names of the four Hitchcock films that were used as clues.

Challenge 3
The group are taken to a creek with various pylons across it.  On the other side are two flags.  Two people must build bridges using planks to move from pylon to pylon so they can make it across the creek without getting wet.  But the planks are shorter than some of the gaps between the pylons.  The amount of time they have to solve the puzzle of crossing the creek is determined by their team mates.  A barrel of liquid is turned on.  It takes four minutes for it to completely empty.  When it runs out the game is over, but more liquid can be retrieved 100m down the track.  They must use a quad to transport the liquid, ensuring to only carry one container at a time. Hal and Michael assign themselves to making it across the creek.  Mal rides the quad to retrieve the liquid, leaving Brooke to fill up the barrel.  They retrieve the two flags just as the leaking barrel is on it's final few drops. So they win $10,000.

Suspicious
Michael takes 35 minutes to realise he should ride the exercise bike in his room to give Hal's room light.
Michael tries to slow the team down while looking for Grant in the hotel by checking upstairs.
Hal leaves Michael stuck on a pylon by himself while he retrieves a flag.
Mal collects the containers with a small amount of liquid in it, when the team are running out of time.
