The second Australian Mole
Episode 1

They start the game with sixteen players. But, unlike in any other first episode, six will be eliminated at the end of this episode.

Day 1
Sixteen people... one of them being the Mole. There are four groups of four contestants. There's a group in Brisbane, one in Sydney, one in Hobart and one in Canberra. They get a tape from the host, who tells them they have to arrive at a Melbourne Hotel by 4 pm. They got plane tickets and $500. To get to the hotel, they must use 5 different ways of transport without spending more than the $500. If a team does not arrive on time, each four of them will not make the final cut. With all the teams home they survived the deadline by a few minutes. But before this challenge each group got profiles of the other 12 contestants. They have to learn everything about the other contestants and also about the people in your own team, before reaching the hotel. Everyone lies a lot about their information, because it's for their own good, that the others don't know much of you. In the hotel, they got questionnaires about the other contestants. The six people who knew the least about the others, were eliminated.

The remaining ten contestants are:
Angela Linforth
Brooke Marshall, 24, Bar Manager, VIC
Emily Fitzsimmons, 19, Student, NSW
Fiona White-Hartig, 29, Direct Care Worker, WA
Hal Pritchard, 31, Shop Owner, NSW
Helen Nation, 54, Opal Miner, NSW
John Edwards, 50, Plumber, NSW
Mal Granturco, 38, Warehouse Supervisor, NSW
Michael Laffy, 33, Builder, VIC
Shane Jolley, 27, Advertising Executive, VIC

So these were the people eliminated: Christopher, Mike, Mike b, Natalie, Jessica and Terri.

Challenge 2
The remaining contestants have to do their first real challenge to try to win any money. They have to complete a naval training obstacle course in 40 minutes. The course is 1 kilometre long and has 9 major obstacles. Each refused or failed obstacle will cost the group 2 minutes. Michael has troubles getting his harness off and wastes valuable time. Hal leads the group around an obstacle instead of through it, again costing valuable time. While Helen tries to complete the monkey bars, Mal accidently (?) knocks her. But after all, they do manage to complete it in 40 minutes' time.

According to many Mole polls, most people suspect Mal Granturco. Will he really be the Mole? Probably not, because it wouldn't be a great Mole if everyone already suspects him from day one.
