Episode 6
Petrina was crying when she was taken to the car after she got eliminated. If
only she had taken that exemption! Now she's eliminated. But in The Mole thins
are never what they seem to be...
We see footage of Petrina in the car. She cries and says she
feels like an idiot. What she doesn't know, is that she will be offered the
chance to get back into the game! That evening, the host goes to her hotel room
and knocks on the door. The host tells her she can come back, but it will cost
the group the same prize they got when Cam came back in the game:
$50,000.
Host:"I'll tell you what, it's late, you had a long day and you're
probably tired. Why don't you think about it? Get back to me in the
morning."
Petrina:"So you're saying I can come back?"
Host:"For $50,000."
Petrina:"How much is there now?"
Host:"$109,000. Anyway, sleep tight!"
Petrina's mouth drops:"That's almost half! You're mad... you guys
are mad."
Day 11 - New Caledonia
The others know nothing about this offer. They are on their way
to the next challenge. They arrive at a big waterfall and then the host greets
them. They look aroudn and see him... standing next to Petrina! The girls
cheer.
CC
Kris:"Petrina was resurrected. Quite shocked. She was standing
there like she had the blood drained from her. She was like a statue."
The host tells them she paid $50,000 from their kitty to come
back to the show and then asks Petrina if she has anything to say. Petrina:"I
had one regret already, I didn't want to have another." (referring to
passing on the exemption in the previous episode)

Kris:"Had I been in her shoes, I'd have taken the offer and come
back. I wish she hadn't though, so we wouldn't have lost any money, because our
money is so low, we're not going anywhere with it."
Shaun:"At the end of the day, anyone who says they wouldnt do
it, is telling lies, basically. I would have done it too."
Petrina walks back to the group as the girls welcome her
and cheer and hug her!

Petrina:"The girls were great, I was surprised! They were really
happy to see me and welcomed me back. The boys just glared at me and didn't
speak to me."
Alison:"I don't know, it was weird. I was glad that she was
ok and I knew that it meant a lot for her to be in the game, so in that sense I
was glad for her, but then I thought 'Hmm she did take money from us..."
Petrina isn't the first contestant to come back into the
game. Two episodes ago, Cam got eliminated and someone in the group voted
for Cam to return.
flashback The group is shocked and no one says a
word. The host tells Cam to join the group. No one seems to be glad to
have him back, even though they now have $86,000.

Cam:"When I came back, I was brought back by somebody else, I
had no choice in the matter, I wasn't even consulted about it and the group made
$50,000 from it. Petrina was eliminated from the game and made the decision
herself to come back into the game and take $50,000 from the rest of us."
Kris:"He was just so angry that she was back and he was angry
because when he came back, none of us were happy. We just all stood there with a
blank look on our face. Because we didn't want Cam back...."
The host tells them they're 50,000 $ down. Nikki:"Oh
we'll earn it again!"
They immediately get the chance to earn it again, because there's a new
challenge for them. They go to a big waterfall. Fifteen bags will be thrown in
the waterfall and 4 of them contain money. They have to fish it out of the
water. But they have to remember what is in each bag. It will be a game of skill
and memory. They get to see boards with information telling them what's in which
bag, but it's made extra confusing, because when it says 'green bag: $5000' they
printed it in red.

They get to study the board in about 10 seconds. Petrina
tells them to remember the words. The money is in the green bag. The other bags
will be items that can be of use for them that night. They will mostly need the
essentials for tonight.

Cam:"I was remembering the essentials and that was our highest
priority. That and the cash."
They get geared up and first have to cross the river right next
to the waterfall on ropes to play the game. During the game, only one person
will be in the water for each round. The other contestants will be using the
ropes to pull the person in the water towards the bags. Each contestant only get
3 minutes to grab the bags they want and they're only allowed to take two bags
out of the water.
Nikki goes first. To get the money, she'll have to grab the green bag,
which is the first one she takes. She swims to the shore to give the bag to the
others and goes back to the waterfall.

Nikki:"If we didn't have Cam and Shaun pulling the ropes, you
weren't able to swim towards it, because the current was pulling you and your
shoes would pull you the other way."
Next she grabs the yellow bag containing the essentials. In
round 2, it's Nathan's turn. He too grabs the first two bags that come to
him. (the bags fall from the waterfall and then float towards them) He first
gets the yellow bag, which has luxury in it. He doesn't swim aside to bring it
back, but waits for a next bag to come towards him and that's the green one,
containing accessories.
Alison is next. She has plenty of time, but immediately picks the first
two bags she can get: red and yellow.
Kris is last. She immediately has the yellow bag with essentials and is
then rolling around in the water. She doesn't get another bag anymore. They pull
her aside so she can give the yellow bag to the others and then pull her back in
the water towards the three bags that are still in there. But time's up. They
only got 2 money bags!
Only later that night they found out what is in the other bags.
They go to an old prison for the next challenge.

Nikki:"When we arrived at the jail, we were all so tired. We
hoped we didn't have to stand in those little cold cells alone, because it was
freezing cold!"
They meet the host inside who tells them they won $10,000 in the
previous challenge and now get the opportunity to win another $10,000 or
possibly lose it. On the ceiling is a metal ball which hangs on a magnet, which
is powered by three batteries. The batteries will run out and then the ball will
drop. They have to catch it to win $10,000. Under the ball is a barrel of water,
so the hard metal ball won't knock a hole in the floor. If the ball touches the
water or the ground, they lose $10,000. If they catch it, they win $10,000. The
host then tells them the magnet is already on and invites someone to stand under
the ball to catch it in case it falls. Cam volunteers. The host tells him
to reach out his hands, because else he won't be in time to catch the ball. It
could take a long time and they will need something to eat and sleep
comfortably. They leave Cam behind guarding the bomb. The host lets some
of the other contestants choose essentials, accessories and luxury items.
Petrina is led into a cell by the host. Because they only got one bag
labeled 'esentials', Petrina can now choose one out of four essential
things: cooking gear, sleeping bags, food or pillows. Petrina won't
choose the cooking gear, because it's useless without food. She goes for the
food, which is a basket full.
Two of the bags they got were labeled luxury. Alison can choose two items
out of candy, alcohol, camp beds and gastronomic delights.
Alison:"Well we definitely want the alcohol!"
And secondly she chooses the beds.
They also got two bags of accessories. The contents will be almost useless for
their night in the jail. Kris can choose among snack food, massaging
gear, entertainment (a ball and guitar...) and party items.
Niki goes into the last cell with the host where she can take two piles
of $5,000 because they got two money bags. They win $10,000 out of a possible
$20,000. And if they drop the ball, they will lose $10,000! So they can very
well lose today's winnings again.
Cam has been under the ball for almost an hour and he's
losing attention. He starts scratching his back, bends through his knees,
stretches,... meanwhile also looking left of him, because the other contestants
are in the other room (the rooms are only divided by a metal barred door, so Cam
can see them and they can see Cam) The other contestants are more
concerned with the items they won. They're eating and rinking and seem to have
forgotten that there's $10,000 at stake. Finally, Shaun takes over from Cam,
who then suggests to the others to change positions every 15 minutes, because
else you get too tired to stand there.
It's 10:12 pm and Shaun is bored and not really looking at the ball, but
more at his fellow contestants.

Shaun:"Just standing there, you start thinking about what
happened that day and I found myself dosing off while standing there."
15 minutes have passed and Nathan takes over.
CC
Nathan:"Looking at that ball... every time you look at it for
about five minutes... it starts playing tricks on you. You feel like you're too
far in or too far out. It start playing mind games with you."
10:26 pm
Alison is going to take over from Nathan. She wants to take her
can of beer with her, but Cam tells her she can't, because she has to
keep her hands free in case the ball drops. Reluctantly, she puts the beer back
and replaces Nathan.
Fifteen minutes later, Nikki takes over. She gets bored quite fast and
quickly only holds one hand high up in the air.

Cam:"All I'm asking of myself and of the others is ten minutes
of focus and I didn't know it was going to be this hard. The girls weren't very
interested standing under the ball and quickly said 'I'm booored! My arms hurt!'
"
Nikki:"I'm stiff!"
Cam takes over for another 15 minutes.
CC
Cam:"You're isolated, you're pretty much alone standing there
and it hurts. Your neck is getting soar and it's tiring your arms."
Nikki:"I can't wait to get back to that hotel and stand under
the shower and lie in bed. The sooner the ball drops, the better."
It's 1:00 in the morningand they are still waiting for the ball
to drop. It's been over four hours already and for most of them sleep seems to
be more important than the money they could win. Shaun takes over from
Cam.
CC
Kris:"How I would love to put be in bed in the hotel! I could
just see myself sleeping between those clean crisp sheets."
Cam:"I think Kris isn't even going to attempt it tonight.
Nikki did it once and she was carrying on about 2 minutes afterwards about how
uninterested she was in it. Petrina... is a serial underachiever."
The contestants are drinking the alcohol and some are sleeping.
CC
Nathan:"Everyone was having a few drinks and I said that's not
what we were supposed to be doing, because we had to keep focus. One by one they
started dropping like lfies."
1:17 am Shaun is standing under the ball.
1:26 am Nathan is there now and Petrina takes over. at 1:40 am,
but Cam is doing most of the work, putting in twice as much time as
anybody else.
CC
Kris:"It has been my turn or somebody else's turn when Cam's
gone out saying he'd do it. So he's either making it look like he's the big
hero, standing there all the time or he might let that ball drop."
It's a little before 3 in the morning and the host arrives to
offer them a deal. He suggests to stop the challenge. They won't win or lose any
money if they stop now. Cam says the rest can go to sleep, he'll catch
it. Nathan and Nikki want to stay too. Petrina would like
to go back to the hotel, but they decide to stay.
CC
Shaun:"The offer was too good to turn down, but I did. And
everyone else did. I said if you want to stay here and possibly lose $10,000,
you can do it yourself, because I'm going to sleep and that's what I did."
Shaun indeed is sleeping.
CC
Nathan:"By the end of it, Shaun passed out and it was just me
and Cam going back and forth all night."
It's 3:09 am and Nathan takes over from Cam again.
All the rest is asleep.
At 3:30 am, the battery has finally run out... the ball drops and Cam is
standing underneath.
CC
Cam:"I was actually looking at it. And as I'm looking at it, the
bloody thing drops! I thought, no worries!"
Nathan:"I turned around for one second and talked to Alison
and it went!"
Cam catches the ball, but it bouces on to his right arm,
then to his left arm and it falls through his arms in the water! Cam
let's himself fall on the ground. The others now come running to him

Nathan:"He was on the ground and he wasn't moving and I thought
he caught it! But then I saw his hands over his face, shaking his head and I saw
the ball floating in the water..."
Cam:"Fortunately I was in the right position but
unfortunately I wasn't prepared for the weight? I think it weighed 2 or 3 kilos
or more. It came down and I had my arms there, they were in the right position,
but it sort of hit me there (poiting at his lower right arm) it bounced
of to my other arm, it hit me there and rolled between my forearmes."
Petrina:"Cam... was really adament that we were not going
back to the hotel and quit and keep the money that we got. He said 'No I can do
this!'. He was so confident that he could do it."
Shaun:"Cam's decision to stay cost us $10,000."
Nathan:"I reckon it could've gone either way."
Alison:"Kris kinda got out of it without being
obvious..."
Kris:"That was big Mole activity... after six and a half
hours. Why was Cam there when the ball falls? ... Why did it touch his skin and
go through his arms?" (shaking her head)
Day 12
The following morning they have a chance to win some money back
by paddling a couple of leaky boats, but the host tells them something else.
Something important. He tells them to go to the van where they will find
cannisters with their initials on it. They are not allowed to open the
cannisters and have to keep it on them all the time. Anybody who doesn't have
the cannister when asked, will be fined $1,000 from the kitty.
The cannisters will be needed for a future assignment and until then, they
mustn't open them! If anyone opens it or fails to have it with them, they will
be fined $1,000. But first they have aother challenge. They have to paddle two
boats aroud a buoy and come back. But there are plugs in the boats. The host
will remove one when they start, so the boat will be leaking water. Each time
they return from a buoy, they will be asked a question. If they get it right,
they can continue. If it's wrong, the host will pull another plug. They have to
finish the course before they sink. If they sink, it's game over. He also hands
each group of three in a boat one plastic cup which they can use to bail out
money.

The game hasn't even started and already they're in trouble! Shaun
gets in the boat, but leans too far over and immediately falls already.
CC
Shaun:"I though I'll lean forward, because if I step on boat, it
will tip up. So I thought if I lean forward, I'll counter the weight, but the
boat didn't move. I put too much weight on the top and kept going.. I felt like
an idiot afterwards."
There will be 2 rounds and they'll win $2,000 for each boat that
makes it around all the buoys without sinking. The boats start at the same time.

Team 1 starts off hysterically laughing! Shaun and Petrina
paddle, but soemtimes paddle water into the boat. Nikki isn't bailing
much water with the cup, but to stop the boat from sinking, she stands up...

Shaun:"Nikki thought it would be a great idea to stand up to
make things lighter. I don't know how that worked! (laughs) It was so
funny when she said 'We were sinking. I thought by standing up I would make the
weight lighter!' "
It doesn't really work and they sink. The red boat isn't doing
much better. Kris tries to bail out water fast, but they sink anyway. Kris
however keeps on bailing water up into the air, even though the boat has sunk
already! Round 1 is over and they haven't won anything yet, but they can still
win money in round 2. In the yellow boat they decided to replace Shaun by
Cam. This time, both boats are doing better. Both boats go around the
buoy and get back to the host to answer a question. The red boat arrives first
for the question:
One of King Henri the 8's ships sunk of the southern coast of England what was
the name of that ship? 
1. The English Rose
2. The Catherine Rose
3. The Mary Rose
They guess the Mary Rose, which is correct! They can go around the buoy again.
If they manage to do so, they win $2,000.
Question for the yellow boat (while Petrina and Nikki
are bailing water):
On 19th November 1941 an entire ship and all people on board disappeared off the
coast of Western Australia without a trace. What was the name of that vessel?
1. The Armist Quiter
2. The HMA Sydney
3. The Dunbar
Nikki thinks its 2, but Petrina and Cam go for 3. It's
wrong and another plug is pulled from the boat, making it sink faster.
The red boat is doing well and succeeds! The yelow boat is in trouble though...
the back is already under the water. Cam immediately jumps out and swims
back to the host, leaving the two girls behind with the sunken boat.
CC
Kris:"The boat was tipping and Cam jumped in the water and he's
swimming back and let the two girls struggling, the boat upside down."
Nikki:"Cam had swum off half the way and Petrina and me got
knocked out of the boat and I'm like... Cam is the big hero and swims
away!"
Alison:"He didn't even look back and I yelled 'What about the
girls?' and he was 'Oh yeah...' and I thought that was really strange."
Kris:"He was only thinking of himself. He had no idea of
helping the girls... Mole activity again! Two assignments... Cam!"
They win $2,000 for the red boat that made it, but it could have
been $8,000. Was anyone deliberately trying to make the boat sink?
CC
Nikki:"If I was suspicious on anyone it would be Shaun because
he had already tried capsizing the boat from the start (when he fell in the
water) and two was when we were paddling, we were sinking of all the water he
was paddling into the boat."
Petrina:"Shaun was paddling water into the boat! We weren't
getting anywhere and he was literally poaring water into the boat!"
Nathan:"Cam decided to dive aside and left everyone. I don't
know what his priorities were."
Suspicions
Nathan:"Cam stuck out of it a bit today for me. He did
not take Grant's offer (Grant = the host). He dropped the ball. He dived
out of the boat."
Nikki:"My Mole suspects are two main ones: Ali and Kris. Ali
because she always does subtle little things, but no one ever notices it. And
Kris always has good excuses to get out of things."
Alison:"I think Petrina is playing the game, because she has
somthing mysterious about her. Nikki was saying that in the boat today, Petrina
was accidentally knocking out all the plugs wit hthe paddle and basically doing
the wrong thing the whole time."
Petrina:"I'm really suspicious of Cam and Shaun. Cam big
time! I think I disregarded Shaun very early and all of his stuff-ups I always
thought that's just Shaun stuffing up. But now I'm not so sure. Now I'm
suspecting him as The Mole."
Kris:"Very heavy on Alison at the moment. Even though she
hasn't done much in the Mole activity but Cam's back on the list so I'm going
between Alison and Cam. I Cam doing Mole activity or is he out there to be seen
and be the hero?"
In that night's Confession Cam, there's something new on
everyone's mind:

Nikki (who has her cannister bound around her wrist):"This is
our cannister. Everyone has a cannister with their initials in the top. They're
quite annoying, but now it looks like he's my new best friend."
Petrina:"If we are caught without these, we lose $1,000 for
the kitty and boy oh boy we can't afford that! If I lose any money from the
kitty... can you imagine how much I will cop? Oh heavens!"
Shaun:"One thing that's got me a bit worried is this thing. A
small metal cannister. No one has any idea what's inside and I'm wondering when
we're going to find out. So we'll see what happens tonight. Maybe there's an
exemption in there, maybe not."
Cam:"I guess we'll find out!"
Suspicious in this episode
Petrina
paid $50,000 out of the group pot to come back into
the game.
Nathan and Kris don't get a money bag.
Alison chooses alcohol, which causes the rest to lose focus while they
have to catch the ball.
Cam wants to continue the challenge, risking to lose $10,000
Kris only attempts to catch the ball one time.
No one is really helping at night. Only Cam and Nathan try to
catch the ball.
Cam lets the ball drop.
Shaun makes the boat tip over before the challenge starts, getting a bit
of water in already.
Shaun paddles water into the boat.
Petrina knocks out plugs with her paddle.
Nikki suggests standing up in the boat will make yourself lighter, so the
boat won't sink as fast.
Cam jups out of the boat and leaves the girls.
Elimination
Before they begin, the host asks them to show the
cannisters. they all have it with them. Now let's find out who will be going...
