Day 22
The group divides in two groups, an artistic one and one that can
count to at least 751. Kathryn and Jim
end up in the artistic team and Steve and Charlie are on the other
team.
The latter group is sent to a field full of sheep. Their challenge is to herd
the sheep together in a pen for $20,000. If they can also count them all, they
earn an extra $10,000. They can choose a dog to help them. There are three dogs,
but only one of them is a good one. They choose the wrong dog. They start their
challenge. Steve manages to get some sheep in the pen already, but Charlie
makes a wrong move and the sheep run out again. After a while they get all sheep
in the pen and start counting them. However, they decide to give up counting
'cause they might run out of time. They win $20,000.
Meanwhile the artistic team is brought to an art gallery. They have to make an
art piece and if an art critic doesn't know which one they made, they win
$20,000. They bring along a chest, a chair an
d
a shattered piece of glass to create their work of art with. They use a pair of
boxing gloves to create someone crawling out of a trunk and reaching for a set
of jewels. Another piece they make is of a chair with one leg sawn off. The
missing leg is replaced by some books. Then they have a third piece with pages
of a book under broken glass with a hamer on it. They decide to go for the
boxing gloves (which have the name Charlie printed on them). The art
critic arrives. Jim and Kathryn see what happens on a monitor. In
the beginning he thinks the piece of Jim and Kathryn isn't theirs
and carries on. After a while though, she is doubting between a heart made of
lemon slices and their piece. She decides the boxing gloves piece is made by Jim
and Kathryn. She's right and the artistic team doesn't win $20,000.
But they get a second chance, 'cause The sheep team has to do the same. Only if
they can get the right piece, they will win $20,000. Charlie doesn't
think the boxing gloves piece is theirs, 'cause according to him Kathryn
wouldn't make anything with a fighting theme. He also makes a nasty remark about
Jim and the lemon heart by saying that it would be something for Jim
because it's so 'fruity'. After a while they choose a piece of art made of a
rope forming a question mark. They're wrong. Again no $20,000. Kathryn
thought it would be easy for them to guess, because they know she collects
sporting goods and the gloves even have the name CHARLIE.
The nthe sheep team can make a guess to the number of sheep. Steve
guesses 417, Charlie 671. Anderson says it's 751 and reminds them back to
earlier that day when he said he needed two persons who could count to 751.
Day 23
The contestants have to make a list of the people who they would
like to see eliminated. Everyone votes. It doesn't matter who they want to see
leaving the game, but it's important who they trust most. That's Steve.
He has to convince the others to do some nasty challenges. If all team members
do their challenge, they'll win $60,000 and Steve will get an exemption,
letting him go to the final episode. If only two of them do it, they'll win the
money, b
ut there'll be no
exemption. If only one person does his/her challenge, that person will get an
exemption, but there will be no money. And if no one does it, then Steve
has an exemption and again there is no money.
Steve has to choose who will do which challenge. Kathryn has to
take part in a knife throwing act, Jim has to walk over hot coals and Charlie
has to walk over a narrow plank over a ravine.
Kathryn gets blindfolded and is taken to the place where she has to do
her challenge. She says she wants to do it. As she stands against the board she
suddenly faints! Everyone rushes over to her to see if she's alright. Steve
asks if she wants t
o
continue and she does. But the knifethrower doesn't really throw the knife. He
plants it next to her head.
Next is Jim, who has to walk over the hot coals. Again this one isn't
real either. But Jim doesn't know that. He takes off his shoes and socks
and runs over the cold coals with Steve next to him.
They have won the money now. Kathryn and Charlie thought Jim
would do his challenge. So Charlie knows he doesn't really have to do his
challenge anymore, unless he wants to give Steve the exemption. But can
he be so sure? Maybe Jim didn't do his challenge after all or Kathryn
lied about having done the challenge. Charlie decides to do his challenge
too. And this challenge is totally real! Steve has to guide him over the
plank. He succeeds and they win $60,000.
Suspicious
Charlie and Steve
didn't get the number of sheep right.
Charlie and Steve didn't find the correct piece of art made by Jim
and Kathryn.
The name CHARLIE was printed on the gloves. A hidden hint?
Charlie did the challenge although he knew it wasn't really necessary
anymore.
