Robert bought the ring one Saturday afternoon when Suzanne was visiting from Eureka.
That's when he saw her once a month.
And you know the saying,
"Absence makes the heart grow fonder"
Robert was apparently inspired.
When he bought the ring, he proposed the same day. The rock was burning a hole in his pocket!
Robert first asked her father for her hand in marriage, and thank goodness, he agreed.
Robert took Suzanne to one of their favorite restaurants, The Ivy.
He had meatloaf and margaritas and she had steak and lemon drops and when dinner was over, he got down on one knee, his eyes started to water (he was crying).
He said, "Will you marry me?"
She saw the ring, and answered with a resounding YES!
