How to Cracked Armour

Step 1

First thing to do is to put down the main colour; in this case humbrol flat scarlet then with a thin brush and some thinned down black paint paint on all the cracks in a nice haphazard way. Try and keep these a consistant size.

Step 2

Second step is the highlighting of each individual area. This takes a bit of thought and a lot of care. Also I recomend a farely strong highlite colour (not the normal Sunburst Yellow  - I used a Pactra igsignia yellow). 

Step 3

Third step is to go in with a dark orange and blend the yellow areas into the red.

Here's the end result on my Chaos Commander. This process while being VERY TIMECONSUMING does give an very nice result in the end.
