I'm in a rare mood today. Read quite a lot of Alan Moore stuff last night (League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Smax, Promethea), had a kind of profoun effect on me. I'm trying hard to understand things, not just stupid little banal things as usual, but generally trying to spot the subtleties of the world itself. It's weird really, but since I decided to have more enthusiasm last night, things seem more vibrant and alive today.
My course is now proceeding to crush this new life from me, but I'm not going to let it.

Is it something to do with the Employment Service or are they all just uncaring bastards? I'm pretty certain they don't actually care about any unemployed individual, just about getting their statistics sorted out. As long as we're not shown as long term unemployed, they keep the government happy. It's disgraceful really. Here I am working on bettering myself, taking courses off my own bat to give me a better chance of employment, but it's not enough. I'm not really allowed to do things of my own initiative. It's only if they put me on a course that it counts (Again, because it takes me off the 'unemployed' statistic, which wouldn't happen if they left me alone to do stuff myself. But how do they do this? They send me to somewhere where the people are great, but their hands are tied by the very people who sent me here. The biggest stumbling block I can see to me actually getting a job (outside my own laziness) is the Employment Service itself. They won't let me change what I want to do. If I want to better myself in a way they don't approve of, they get in my way and screw up my attempts. In effect, they are nothing more than bullies who use the threat of removing my benefit to make me capitulant.
Bastards the lot of them.

Bought the new Sims expansion on Friday. Check my game logs to see what I think of it. Likewise picked up Judge Dredd: Dredd vs. Death.
Oriental was immense fun on Friday night, despite Alvin doing sod all AGAIN. I'm pretty certain he's using the 'Shield Other' spell as an excuse to only heal himself. I got rid of my 'component' that lets him cast it on me, so he was forced to use it on Woody, who benefits from it so much more.
I'm slightly worried about things once Rich leaves. It's gonna be weird without him around. He's a good guy. Andy isn't certain about the games he runs being ok without Rich. Spelljammer is almost certainly going to collapse, as will Orc more than likely (He's the only primary fighter type in the group...at least until my Minotaur gets levelling up). I really hope the Forest Campaign doesn't collapse, as it's lots of fun.
