I am going up to London tomorrow on the train. Not sure if i'm excited or not, will be staying with Shan(my cousin). It's kind of a last minute thing. Want to see London again before i go home. Anyway, i hope everything goes well.
Last Friday, i went to see the Boyan Ensemble of Kiev in Chapel Street Methodist Church. It was really, really good! I enjoyed it a lot. Going back pretty soon so i'm starting to take more photographs of places. Ya - i know :oP
Reached London - finally. Having a headache, so didn't do much. Just walked around Victoria Street and did some shopping. Staying at Holland House in Victoria. Not my initial plan as i initially wanted to stay at the YHA. Not bad though as breakfast and dinner is included in the price. Advice - IF COMING TO LONDON, REMEMBER TO BOOK IN ADVANCE!
I went to Tooting Bec this morning. Took pictures of Montana Road(my dad used to spend Christmas there). Then i went on to Foyle's book store in search of some Spanish books, but there were none that i was interested in. It's a very big, but confusing book store in Charing Cross Road. After that, went to London Euston Station to meet Shan. I didn't stay with her in the end as the firemen were on strike and it wouldn't be advisable. We went to China town for lunch and then on to Harrods. We bought LOADS of chocolates. After Harrods, we went shopping around Knightsbridge. I said goodbye to Shan and came back to Victoria. Somewhere along the line, where was a fire, so they evacuated us and asked us to take the bus instead. There were SO many people, i didn't manage to catch a bus. Fortunately, the lines were re-open and i went back on the tube. Again, i walked around Victoria and went to the Internet Cafe to pass my time. All in all, not a bad day. Time sure flies!
Took the bus to Camden town today. Then went to the London Zoo. It was raining so heavily at first, i got SOAKED, but thankfully it stopped. So i managed to explore the zoo dry. After that, i went around Camden Market to do more shopping! Bought more souvenirs for people back home. It was really busy. Quite scary to walk around that area alone at night. The feeling was like being in a typical Malaysian "pasar malam"(night market), only things are much, much more expensive. Needless to say, time went by quickly also. Going back to Penzance tomorrow.
I managed to get back to Penzance safely, after quite a sneaky trip to London all by myself! I woke up early in the morning, scared that i will miss the train. Thank God i did, cos when i reached the tube station, the line was so long it came up onto the streets! I stayed calm and took the bus instead. I managed to get down and the right stop and got to London Paddington station earlier than i had planned. Got back, tired as usual. I just wished i went to London with some friends.
