POSTCARDS FROM THE UK - Journal of Events

Went to Ian's for tea last night. Turns out i'm going to have to stay at his place for 2-3 days next week. The Urens are going on a cruise in the Carribean. Tonight i performed at the "little gig" in college. Was suppose to play a piece by Clementi, but i felt that i wasn't too prepared for it. So, last minute(as in the performance before mine), i changed my mind and felt the need to play "Shout To The Lord" instead. I went perfectly, i didn't make any mistakes. Therefore, i felt it was the right thing to do. I stood up for God, i felt, in front of the college. I felt pleased with myself. Various people congratulated me, which felt good, even people whom i don't know. Anyway, the night went really, really well.

It's getting so much colder now. Day time slightly above freezing, and night below freezing. Three of my classes were cancelled today, so it was pretty boring. In maths, it was so cold and the heating wasn't even turned on, so everyone wore their jackets and coats in class. CRAZY!
I went to the Eden Project last Saturday on the train. It was alright i guess. Nothing like i've seen before. I enjoyed myself.

So i'm finally on the train to Manchester! Still seems unreal that my AFS year is coming to an end. It probably hasn't sunk in yet. I guess i'm feeling really sad, especially when saying goodbye to the Urens and the Waghorns. I'm feeling more sad than excited right now.
My friends in Maths and Music threw me a small surprise farewell party, which was really nice, and unexpected of them! It also managed to snow a little bit on Tuesday afternoon, which was great!
I can't believe i'll be home in 4 days, and i'll be seeing Syeekin, Shiang and Jose in a few hours! I'm just praying that our trips goes as smoothly as possible. I'm gutted to leave Penzance, more than i thought i would be. Perhaps because everyone had been a family to me. Well, it certainly feels like it now. I'm hoping nothing goes wrong with the trains. Thank God that everything turned out well this year!

The camp in Manchester was good. Ali organised it and we talked about what we learned this whole year and what to expect when we go back. All 5 of us(Ali, Me, Jose, Syeekin and Shiang) went to watch "Changing Lanes" in the cinema on Saturday night. During our free time on Sunday afternoon, Jose, Syeekin, Shiang and i went around Manchester. We went to the Christmas Market, which sold food from all over Europe! It was good, then we went for a hot drink. We had fun. Jose tried to throw me into the river, but i held on to his legs, screaming. NOT a nice sight. After dinner, Syeekin and Shiang wanted to stay at the youth hostel, so Jose and I went to watch Harry Potter 2. He acted all weird and made advances on me many times that night. I avoided it as it was our last night together. No wonder he was acting all weird all day Sunday.  I didn't tell anyone. So, i don't know. We said our goodbyes at 3.30am on Sunday morning :~o( The end of my AFS year. So many sad goodbyes, so many happy memories :o)
