Large Caterpillar

The main body parts of the caterpillar are the head, thorax, and abdomen.  The caterpillar has 6 eyes on each side of his head; that equals twelve eyes in all. A caterpillar has 16 legs.  His prolegs work like suction cups. He has bristles on his body to help keep him safe from his enemies.   A caterpillar sometimes sheds its skin which is called molting.  He breathes through his spiracles.
