One of the many views seen from a morning ride. ~ Unfortunately much of this area is now under water due the construction of a large lake and dam. ~ The equestrian folks put up a nice fight, but were defeated.

This is an all day ride that happens every year the first Saturday in October. ~ There can be as many as 300 horses. ~ This day there were about 250. ~ We ride 4 hours in the morning, stop for lunch and 4 hours back. ~ We cross the Iowa River 12 times and this was one of the easier crossings :-).

Twister and I went down this to take a photo of Michele and Randy at the top. There is a nice creek just behind us. We haven't done much trail riding lately, as it's just been too hot. Hopefully the weather will change soon.
