PHILIPPINE HEROES
Emilio Jacinto- the brains of Katipunan. Born in Tondo on December 15, 1875, joined the Katipunan and wrote its primer which embodied the teachings of the organization. He also founded and edited the Katipunan newspaper, Kalayaan (Freedom).
Marcelo H. del Pilar - political analyst of the Filipino colony in Spain. In 1882, he founded the nationalistic newspaper Diariong Tagalog. He also became the editor for La Solidaridad which became the moving spirit behind the Propaganda movement.
Melchora Aquino (Tandang Sora)  - recognized as the Mother of Katipunan. She helped the katipuneros by providing them food, shelter and other material goods,
Gabriela  Silang  - her husband, Diego Silang, started the revolt in Vigan, Ilocos Sur but was later killed. After his death on May 28, 1763, the fight was carried on by his wife Gabriela. She, too, perished for freedom's sake on September 30, 1763.
