| PHILIPPINE HEROES |
| Dr. Jose Rizal - Philippine National Hero. His novels Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo stirred the people's hearts. He was arrested and was later killed in Bagumbayan on December 30, 1896. His death proved to be the last straw for the Philippine Revolution. |
| Andres Bonifacio - the leader of the Katipunan. He came from a poor family, he never knew the benefits of a prosperous life. Though he never had formal education, he studied on his own, he was highly intelligent. He was killed on May 10, 1897 near Mt. Buntis. |
| Apolinario Mabini - the sublime paralytic, he was the brain of the Katipunan. He joined Rizal's La Liga Filipina in 1892 and Aguinaldo's revolutinary government. He was captured by the Americans in December 1899 and was deported to Guam. He died in Manila in May 13, 1903. |
