My dad gave me Conan of Aquilonia for Christmas one year and, after having eagerly read that one, I got the rest of the Ace series for my Birthday! And then there was the movie, Conan the Barbarian. It was a great movie but what got me hooked was the fabulous soundtrack by Basil Poledouris. So, if you've been a fan all your life or if this is your first experience with Conan, read on and enjoy!
Robert E. Howard (1906-1936) wrote the original Conan stories for Weird Tales magazine never suspecting the legacy they would spawn. Conan has had a franchise of pastiches, comic books, movies, and television shows for over 70 years that has arguably put his name on par with Hercules and King Arthur.
