| Well met! In this area of Ancient Chronicles: Legends of Heroic Fantasy we will be looking at the world of the Children of the Lion, the most historical of the fantasy worlds we look at. Children of the Lion was a series of novels written by Peter Danielson and published by Bantam that were set in the time and lands of the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. When I went to college one of my majors was Religious Studies and Biblical Archaeology (my other major was Classical & Medieval Studies) and I'm still very interested in this subject. Who Wrote ... The Children of the Lion? That's a good question! Peter Danielson ... but so far I can't find any information on him. Who Wrote the Bible? That's an even better question! Read about the Documentary Hypothesis and theories on Biblical authorship and literary origins. A little background information on Biblical archaeology would be helpful. Become an armchair archaeologist and follow in the footsteps of the early explorers as they uncover the fabulous lost kingdoms of the ancient world! Read the Bibliography to familiarize yourself with the Children of the Lion series by Peter Danielson. See which books your missing or get information on what's available. Who's Who in the world of the Children of the Lion? Find out in this section with character biographies and sketches for all the characters throughout the series - many of whom are also found in the Bible! In the Atlas section you will find maps of the ancient world and descriptions of the various places and cultures that populate the world of the Children of the Lion. The Timeline ties it all together; history and fiction as told in the Children of the Lion series. Links Page: A listing of links relating to Biblical history and archaeology. |
