Political Cartoons 1983-84

All drawings were done ink on Paper, and were relevant to events of that particular time.

"All aboard!"                                                                             February 1984
As a child I had drawn Uncle Sam many times.  But in this case our withdrawel from Lebanon made us look like we didn't know what we were doing there to begin with.  So since the party was over I used the image of W.C. Fields in costume.  I even researched the number of miles back to Chicago (6,097) for one of the signs.

"Another one bites the Dust?"                                       January 1984
ByI was amazed how quickly Andropov's legacy was discredited after he died.  So i took an American icon (Mt. Rushmore) and used Soviet leaders in the place of American Presidents.
It also gave me a chance to work with Brezhnev's eyebrows.
