Political Cartoons 1983-84

All drawings were done ink on Paper, and were relevant to events of that particular time.

"Out of the Grasp of Animals"                                         January 1984
Without government support, Rev. Jesse Jackson flew to Syria and negotiated the release of a downed pilot.  He would repeat this again in 1999 when he negotiated the release of three soldiers caught on the wrong side in Bosnia.

At this stage I was just reiterating the news.  Sometimes you couldn't find humor in these stories.

"Sword in the Stone"                                                               February 1984
I took the legend and replaced the stone with "The Rock", a Nothwestern icon that routinely gets painted by fraternity members.

I also had too much fun adding detail, like the NU emblem on the sword.  In the final print the artwork was reduced too much that the detailed was lost.
