Political Cartoons 1983-84

All drawings were done ink on Paper, and were relevant to events of that particular time.

At this time quite a lot of news stories were coming out of Nicaragua.  And their only supporter was Cuba.  But their defiance stance quickly turned in paranoia, as allies (especially the Soviet Union) refused to support events.

I had never thought about drawing Castro before.  So it was kind of fun to show him in this scenario, and with his customary cigar.

By this time many stories concerning the attrocities with these Death Squads in El Salvador were making front page news.  This turned out to be my darkest cartoon, both visually and emotionally.
