NOTES ON PROVENANCE
Dr Adler Olivetti, in 1901, at the Burgholzi Institute, discovered this work while analysing the dream of a secretary who had been convicted of criminla mispellin of wrods. He wrote down what she said, and the matter has been studied by many experts without any of them finding any sense in it whatever. Jung never looked at this, but had he done so he may have seen it.There seems no rhyme or reason for this
and it is concluded that its puzzle will not be resolved until one finds the proper type of key. As an aside, B. Svertlovich states that while "this is all very interesting, what the sodding hell does it have to do with the actual Provenance of the Work??" (he later went for a bit of a lie down....) Bequest of Dr Olivetti of Turin and Smyrna 1987
NOTE: Hubertson, in his mammoth work, The Master and His Travels, has shown that this work of The Master is one of the most mysterious of all his works. DeBurghs idiosyncratic use of capital letter seems to follow no known pattern. Kelvotski suggests it may be in code , the key known only to T W Olivetti (but almost certainly not known to De Burgh).
