Untitled

By Robert James DeBurgh (Poet)

Shall I not, then love
Of most beloved Gorgon's nose
When in most replet'd
Sulewsian night?
Beseech thee - Lo!
Or if in Hecate's
Foetid burrow
Chime the sack cloth winds
Of tepid nectar?
Yet - Regale, Recoil me!
Mine spinifex of Earthl'y mire
It is to the WEST
And Lo! Of Most
Peregian feast
Harken
Harken
Hark

Mahal 1894

NOTE:
Taken from the time of R J de B's alledged "disappearance". Possibily a mis-dating, explicable by desert - imbued confusion or the plaigarism of one of his followers. Many clamoured to be known as "from the school of R J de B..."
He was said to allow this for a small fee or a camel's bladder of mead.

NOTES ON PROVENANCE:
As most afficionados know, the work in question was uncovered by Marjorie X Hasselbutt of North Southampton in 1999 when she accidently played backwards a vinyl single after a particularly inebriated "Seventies Party".

After getting past the usual "Beezlebub is Lord" and a JFK conspiracy confession, the greatness of RJD'B's splendid edifice of literary prowess came burbling forth from her speakers. Ms Hasselbutt faithfully transcribed the entire work but her attempts to track down the specific printer of this album led only to a ramshackle Swedish hut with

"Gorn fishin' vith Bjorn"

taped to the door. To date, no further clues have been uncovered...
