New ArchivesRizalian Goes International 09/29/1999 Remir M. Repollo, a
fourth year student of Silliman University High School, attended last July
18-25, the Annual World Summit of Children at Mt. Alverno, Redwood City,
San Francisco, USA. The objective was to solidify the foundation of the
Young General Assembly (YGA), a young counterpart of the United Nations
hosted by Peace Ways, a non-profit and non-government organization
recognized and registered with the United Nations. The summit was
participated in by young people from about 20 to 30 countries from all
over the world. Repollo’s other companions were
Marjorie Estor and Rior Santos, both from Philippine Women’s University
in Quezon City and Mrs. Teresita Torres as their adult leader in behalf of
Mrs. Josefa Luciano, project coordinator of Children and Peace
Philippines. Repollo said thet he met new friends and learned a lot more
of the culture of different places of the globe. When asked about his trip
he said, “It was great, exhilarating and finally I saw how golden the
Golden Gate Bridge is."
