ALL THE MITZVOT......
RETURN TO PURIM:
Whatever you way you do your gragger in the end, a good 'learning and understanding' idea is this. Fill your water table with all different types of beans and containers. (if you are using water bottles for your graggers have water bottles, if you are using milk cartons, have milk cartons...etc..etc...) This way they experiment with sound. When you are actually making the gragger, have each
THE GRAGGER

child go to the water table and fill up their container on their own.
V
ersion one: Take water bottles and fill it partly with beans. Have the children put little boxes of tissue paper all over the sides and then with glue and water (or real modge podge) glaze it over. Then add googly eyes, a frown (piece of pipecleaner) and a triangle piece of color paper to cover of the water bottle. This has now become haman. If you would like to add a handle glue gun a large popsicle stick to the bottom of the bottle. For younger children this is the most concrete way for them to learn that the reason we shake is because of Haman.
Version Two: Take a pringle can decorate the outside of it whichever way you think fit. take a large popsicle stick and poke it in the top cover. (Put beans inside and tape shut) . Make a clown face by either coloring one or creating the whole thing from scratch and glue to the top of the popsicle. Make three buttons on the popsicle stick and there you have a clown gragger.
Version Three: Take a papertowel roll and decorate it in various ways and then suff the ends and put beans inside. simple yet different.
THE BASKET

Version one:  weaving ribbon through a strawberry net basket.  For a handle take pipecleaners and let the kids (This is great for younger children 2+ ) string beads on it. You can do a few of them.It makes a very pretty few strand handle.
Version two: Take a metal bowl and have all the kids place dough around it. Bake it that way and it becomes a 'bread basket'. Cool Project!
*** Practice the concept of giving by packing  baskets and delivering it from class to class.
HAMANTASHAN

REAL HAMANTASHAN:  A must. Great experience for kids all ages.
You can make a cookbook with all the ingredients. individual or class one.
FAKE HAMANTASHAN:  paper plate. make a cirle in the middle and have the kids crunch tissue paper and glue in the middle. Then gather the three, to corners.
(you can make it in a hat)
DRESSING UP

Make a make up day and take your miror (The long one) and put in a table sideways. Have the kids in front of it. Give the old make up and let them have a good time.

MAKE A BIG HAMANTASHAN:
Take an oaktag and creat a massive hamantashan (color the middle and staple three points) then use it to keep all your props. At circle time, have the kids pick the things out as you learn bout' purim
Pack the baskets with things the kids make (not only hamantashan) Have fun baking and then pack it all in. i.e. chocolate dipped pretzals.
