THE OUTDOORS
BACK PACKS:
i have found two ways to make this. They are a practical a&c since it can be used on the day of lag b'omer when you go for your picnic to put the kids lunch inside and of course to make them feel imortant. 1) foam material. fold it in half and hot glue the sides. fold over and put two pieces of velcro so they can close it. Use thick ribbon and attatch two thick strips on the back to go around them as straps of the backpack. hope you understand this. it's not very descriptive. 2) is a similar version of number one, cept' using a brown shopping bag (one in the other, for strenth ) fold it over and use velcor too....
PICNIC:
of course on the day of lag b'omer you should have a picnic. these are some suggestions of things to do at a picnic. * if you taught your kids about bon fires, collect twigs with them and place flames (ones you made or they made (cut out flames, dot dotted with the  orange, red, yellow colors) in the middle of it.*you can bake cookies or something special in advance for you picnic. *pick flowers and then when you bring them inside you can use this as an opportunity to tell them that flowers need water.

OTHER IDEAS FOR THE PICNIC:
*visors. since that daywill no doubt be sunny. make sure to make a simpln  visor with your children. take a paper plate have the children decorate it. cut out the middle circle and attach it to the front. that leaves a hole for the childrens' head and a visor on the front to block the sun.

* to make a miniture bonfire to take home:
-take a peice of a flame shapped red sullophin and place burnt matches on the top. (glued down. thus having an upside down bonfire. (you can turn it right side up:))
          - use popsicle sticks as the wood. and then scrunched up tissue paper or suliphone paper as the fire
*to make a class bonfire. collect wood peices. put it in the yard or in the corners of your classroom. have the children collect it.

*this is a good time if you would like to bring in fire safety, flashlights etc......

KITES:
i understand that there are many versions to make this, if you email them i will write them all. My humble opinion is that if it really flies it is the best. take a lunch size paper bag, have the children decorate it, attatch a ribbon or string to the front and back of the opening. tie the two strings together. so that they can hold it and when they run, the paper bag (which is upside down) fills with air and flies. you can add tied bows of ribbon on the long string for the added look. have a blast!.
**second idea:KITES
put stickers on triangle shaped tissue paper. glue coffee stirrers to ends.
staple on ribbon, fly and have fun!

SO DID YOU LIKE IT? PLEASE TELL US WHAT YOU THINK..AND OF COURSE ADD YOUR OWN IDEAS.
BONFIRE: this is definitely the cutest bonfire i have yet to see, but it is for ages five and up. (i think)
take large tounge depressors (5/6) and arrange them in a circle overlapping like the logs of a bonfire. put a thumtack in the middle. throught them all, so they remain in place until you are done. take a string and go in and out of the sticks tying knots until it is sturdy enought to remove the thumtack. take strips of tissue paper, red, orange and yellow. the kids time them onto the sticks, leaving the ends sticking straight up. looking like the flames of a fire.
see the picture. i hope i explained it well. it looks beautiful and is good for older kids. tying...
BOW AND ARROW:
It is not so hard to make a real bow and arrow when you are out in the park- find a nice branch, cut a knick on each side, tie a string, and a second branch as an arrow. Maybe not for little kids, but they sure will enjoy watching you create it!
