Rogue River - November 2000
Can you believe it?!  We hardly could. . . On the Rogue River in Oregon, for three days in November, and not a drop of rain, although it was chilly there were just a few clouds and lots 'o sun!  What a beautiful trip indeed.  The fall scenery and colors were absolutely spectacular.  Whitewater, sculpted rocks, boats, wildlife, great lodging, awesome food, laughter, comaradarie . . . . .must be another river trip.  Instead of camping at any of the beautiful sites on the river, we made reservations to stay at Black Bar Lodge and Paradise Lodge.  Hot showers, warm cabins, good meals and friends . . .what a combo!
At the put-in of Alameda Point, we had to take a break  for the obligatory photo while rigging the boats for trip.  From the Left:  Conni, Chuck, Carol, Bill, Jeanne, Sherri, Ro, Pam, Ken, Doug, Karen.  We were joined several miles downstream by our Kayaking friends Patty & Nancy.
Scouting Rainey Falls.  Did we run it?  Are you kidding?!  At this flow it almost a garanteed flip & swim in the icy cold Rogue, not this trip.  We all ran the fish ladder route at the other side of the river - that was a challenge in itself!
The WEBB Gals (Wave Eating Boating Babes) (or depending on the situation - Wicked Evil Bitchy Broads) at Rainey Falls.  From the left - Carol, Ro, Jeanne & Sherri.  Ken in the background.
Chuck & Conni at the entry of Blossom Bar rapid.
The boats are rigged and we're ready to go.  Anticipating rain and whatever else nature could throw our way, we had raingear and even an umbrella that would attach to the boat.
Our first nights stay at Black Bar Lodge was a huge party!
The second night stay at Paradise Lodge was a bit more mellow and very cozy.  Over looking the river on that clear night with a full moon reflecting off the water, I asked my dear lovely Conni if she would marry me.  We have set a date of May 6, 2001.
